@@Greg501- that’s still not gonna make it work if it’s just a big run of just the royal stuff. Part of the reason the P4 Golden anime failed, apart from Marie is because it’s just the golden extras and nothing else. You still need the stuff from the base game to make it properly flow, especially in regards to P5 Royal’s third semester which directly follows up after the base game’s climax against Yaldabaoth, Maruki was as strong as he is because he hijacked Yaldabaoth’s position in mementos and took his power after all.

Name your "biased" anime studio that you want to adapt Persona 5 Royal, if Atlus decides to request an adaptation, I start. David Productions.

Pretty ironic at how Yosuke is basically the protagonist's voice here, because in the data of the original Persona 4, a lot of cut lines that would've been said by Yosuke are actually replaced by dialogue choices for the protagonist. Every single line that was replaced by a protagonist dialogue choice are from Yosuke as I've noticed and double checked. It really does seem like Yosuke was going to be kinda like our voice like Morgana would be in Persona 5, but then they decided to replace some of Yosuke's lines with protagonist dialogue choices so that the player would get their own voice and not rely on Yosuke to be the voice for them. But here, they would do the opposite.

I precisely think that's why, everybody just agreed to call the P4 protagonist, Narukami Yu, whilst Yosuke is still the one that's mostly making the plot advance. (That and P4 Arena) Because both the anime and this side-game caracterized Yu in very clear ways, that don't really contradict each other in my eyes (For me it just shows he's a massive chady dork and the best big bro ever, while chilling, and a competent and serious leader when need be.) so the name stuck. But it's funny to note that even then, Yosuke is the one that makes the plot move forward. (After all, he's the alleged P4 Arena protagonist, Adachi being mostly the Ultimax one, and Yosuke is the one with a more typical shonen protagonist backstory. Think about it, before Nanako's near-death experience, what is Yu's beef with Adachi? Well in one ending he helps him commit more murders, but he mostly just wants to stop the killer, and became the leader through his charisma. But Yosuke's grudge towards the killer is so much more personal, it's also a crime they never interacted in Blazblue Crosstag for that very reason.) TL;DR: In an adaption that wants to retell the story of P4, I think that both Soji/Yu and Yosuke should be put on equal grounds as protagonists, because both bring something different and unique to the story as leader and right-hand man. I do love the potential their dynamic has. (Also Labrys and Yosuke's relation is cute.) PS: After finishing the video, I 100% agree on Marie, but P4 Gold, at least had the benefit of clearly showing Adachi's life before going to Inaba. Boy what a shitty life. (Now if they could also do that for Mitsuo, it'd be cool too. Seriously, his dungeon deepen the character so much, and barely is done with it...)

Hey I hope you make a video taking a look at the P4Arena manga where it actually makes sense to see Yosuke in the protagonist shoes. I never heard too many good things about the manga adaptation of P4. However the fact I’m a big Yosuke fan probably might get me to take a peek at it if for nothing more then to see he being treated like a protagonist a bit.

I read the manga after the game, and I think manga portrays the storyline and characters better than the anime and game. It's probably because I always thought Yosuke is more suitable as the protagonist than Narukami. He's the only one in the group genuinely interested in solving the mystery.

Honestly, I treat every Adaptation ( in this case, the P4 Manga & P4 Golden Anime) as Different ways to tell the P4 Story rather than really being an Accurate Adaptation. To me, they are like what Ifs in how the Story could've been told. For example, I like the P4 Golden Anime for what I did to Marie becuz it made her more Present in the Story. My dislikes are the Christmas Eve & how they ended the Izanami Battle... Meanwhile the Manga seems more aligned in how the Previous Personas series were. Example is when in P2, the Cast faced their own Shadows that had their own Personas... In the End man, great Video 👍

I think a Persona adaption would be best off taking notes from drama and slice-of-life manga, and dealing with each character's social links as well as the palaces in binges. It should also have much slower pacing, to the point where even just the first dungeon isn't completed until 30-40 chapters.

That’s just not possible for a story like this. Manga even ones commissioned have to keep readers interested otherwise their presence will be pushed back or even out of the magazine entirely. That may work for SoL and drama manga but they start simpler smaller stories in their first chapters and start building long ongoing stories later after getting a dedicated readership. And on the anime side of things, a 30-40 chapters to complete what would be essentially the first arc would equate to about 15-20 episodes. That is basically an entire anime core. Way to expensive for any studio as they are given one, maybe two cores in their budget at the start. If the anime is successful more cores are ordered.

@@oreotaku4017 The first issue sounds like simply having the correct talent to make the manga interesting, and if anything Persona would have an advantage as, unlike something original, the readers will know what to look forwards to simply by knowing the games themselves. It's also hardly like the Persona games begin with a full cast and world ending crisis. No, they're spoonfed just like any other, and for the before and after of their arcs they can be safely tucked away as secondary/tertiary characters. As for the anime I don't see the problem with basing each season around each dungeon, as once again it's a matter of quality. If season one does the first dungeon so well that it garners a following then it'll most likely recieve what it needs to keep the ball rolling. With that time they can provide a far more in-depth experience than the shallow and cheap ones given now, which makes it all the more likely that they would gain popularity. Rather than look at it from a video game to manga perspective, look at it from a manga to manga perspective. If all of these widely popular and iconic manga were crammed into a paltry twenty-or-less chapters then of course they'd fail just as greatly, because you're trying to cut a full series of events into a single volume. Persona has the same amount of depth, so it should be given the same allowances.

@@vadandrumist1670 Well the issue with your idea is that the overwhelming majority of the length of the game is spent on the gameplay side of thing (i.e farming, leveling up stats and social stats, buying stuff etc) whole the actual story and social links take up the smaller part so unless the adaptation gets a lot of filler/original content then it's literally impossible to increase the length.

I just looked up all cutscenes, and at its most complete for just the base game there's over 51 hours, and the only time that's necessarily cut up by huge swaths of gameplay is when dungeon diving. Additionally at least a quarter of the chapters could be taken up by the scripted fights alone. Actually, taking those into consideration now I'm questioning whether 40-50 chapters is even enough, especially later on. That said, I wouldn't be adverse to them cutting out, modifying, and introducing original content. After all it is an adaption, one of a setting ripe for exploration of the characters and activities. I personally would love it if they included many of the gags from the side mangas into the "official" manga. Of particular note is Chapter 5 of the Dengeki Comic Anthology; a chapter devoted entirely to a single afternoon of curry-making, with even more room for depth if Shokogeki no Soma is anything to go by. If a single skill boosting event can fill up an entire chapter I've no doubt 40-50 (or even 35 or less counting battles) being filled is more than possible.

@@vadandrumist1670 literally made a quick search the first and most popular result of all cutscenes from P4G (which is even more, obviously) is only 30 hours long so you're pretty wrong. Edit: It doesn't have all social links but let's be generous and say that the rest clock it up to 40 hours which is still less than 51 and on top of that the average playthrough ranges between 82 and 120 hours so that's less than half of the entire game.

I actually liked the Golden animation a lot. It just focused on expanding Marie´s character and so it had freedom to have the rearranged plot surrounding Marie instead of the rest of the cast, since its complementary material. The original anime weakened and mismanaged the time and attention that many pieces of the narrative I believe were important. I don´t think its completely fair to criticize the Golden animation for not accomplish something it wasn´t trying to.

At least the original anime told the story. P4G was mainly just the filler content and doesn’t do much outside of that. That and the animation was a huge nose dive compared to the original. Say what you want, but the original anime is how you do an RPG anime adaptation right, P4G is not and completely fails as both an adaptation and as a show on its own, while the original works as both.

I disagree with u about the MC He has character and he actually go through a character arc in the series Yu is a lonely person with his parents always away and never having true friends (theirs flashbacks) He sees nanako and dojima relationship becoming what his family became and so he try to change it and ultimately at the end he tells his uncle he going to talk to his parents and try to fix his relationship with them And yosuke pov chapter is when he confront his shadow (like with every other chapter when character faces their shadow) and it’s also showing how cool Yu is to yosuke Also with the rise thing to Yu are u telling me it didn’t come out complete nowhere in the game?? The manga actually shows Yu given advice to rise in her shadow fight and that makes her fall in love with him, and with the translation not saying Risetta it doesn’t matter bc we know she is a idol and she talks to nanako about which rise she likes so we’re not idiots we know what she talking about even without saying risetta Mate did we read the same manga?

It's weird how A1 pictures' quality kept going down with each adaptation, P3 is amazing as a standalone anime but has some pretty bad issues as an adaptation (though it's a small number), animation is also amazing. P4G's animation quality is meh to mediocre/bad and doesn't work as a standalone anime and as an adaptation is just average at best. Persona 5 anime sucks ass, looks like ass.
