This scene, beyond being a glamourest European car race, transports us when 1971 began, all the essence of the '60s and '70s fused with that melody that could not have been better chosen; "Getaway. I think this embodies the difference between Aston Martin and Ferrari( although it's a Dina 246 used here) : You see Danny looking nervous in his mid-engined sportscar, and then Brett in his equally powerfull sports tourer, all relaxed and seemingly enjoying the race mutch more than Danny...

Time to state the differences I think... DBS - wooden steering wheel - V8 leather DBS has a speaker in the centre of the dash roll, deleted on the V8. As told to me, by the factory when being shown around in 73, to this day I still wonder what the wedge shaped car was, under the sheeting......

Pretty sure that the Ferrari would beaten the Aston in real life. BUT only because that Aston wasn't in fact a V8, but a plain DBS straight 6. If you know your Astons there is at least 2 things that give it away.

Possibly the best car chase sequence ever done for a TV show to that point...set to the gayest (even for 1971) and most inappropriate music possible. Very strange. [Before you foam at the mouth and call me a bigot, I showed this to my gay friend Chris, and his exact words were: "No, you're right, that is a VERY gay song."]
