Dave Grohl was an AIDS denier who had an AIDS denier speak before their shows to try and convince people HIV was a government conspiracy. That woman let her infant daughter die of AIDS before she finally succumbed to it herself because she refused treatment because she didn't think the virus was real. The band had links on their website in the mid-2000's to an organization that insisted the virus didn't exist and was offering $1 million to anyone who could provide an actual photo of the virus because they were so sure it was a hoax. I don't get how anyone can still have respect for any of the Foo Fighters. They were actively driving a pandemic.
@alisha18442 жыл бұрын
As a fan of both bands it is my opinion: There was nothing wrong with it that - Kurt didn't feel sympathy for GNR, it's okay but insulting them multiple times and calling them talentless was VERY not appropriate - Axl wasn't upset because they rejected to play on his birthday, also he wasn't upset because of their rejection to their tour with Metallica. He was upset because Kurt was talking badly about them, ignoring his calls and insulting other band members of GNR - I also love Slash for not wanting to be included in this lol - the thing with spitting on a piano just because it belonged (as Kurt thought) to Axl was very not mature and just not a good behavior at all - as much as I hate Kourtney I have to say that she had absolutely nothing to with their conflict and yet still decided to heat up the things - it was hypocritical of Axl to mention Kurt's drug addict all the time as an argument against him, especially because it was so well known that Guns n Roses were known for their wild, rock lives, drug addiction problems (Steven Adler heroin addiction, Slash died for couple of minutes because of drugs, Duff's addiction from alcohol as well) and we could just tell their lifestyle was sex, drugs, rock&roll. Also they were called the most dangerous band on the world alongside with Motley Crue lol - it was also so disgusting of some of Nirvana's fans to literally blame Duff for Kurt's death. Some of the people were literally calling him a killer of Kurt just because he was from GNR. I feel bad for Duffy, he had nothing to do with it And at the end I am just gonna say that I'm not standing at any side, I think both of the sides were not acting mature.

Everyone calling Axl or Kurt Cobain a diva or overdramatic needs to take a step back and realize how mentally ill these guys were. I am not trying to use this to justify their actions but the fame, drugs, and personal shit both these guys faced definitely intensified their poor behavior. Axl has bipolar disorder (which is not something many people are aware of) and was going through a lot of personal shit in the early 90s and Cobain was severely depressed and addicted to heroin. Calling someone these names only perpetuates the stigma against mental health.

"I was gonna invite him to my house cuz he seemed lonely" that quote is sticking with me, as a recovering addict myself, u never know if the simple kind gesture of inviting him over could have had enough effect on Kurt enough to where he may still be with us.i doubt it would have, but had he invited him over u never kno the kind of conversations they could have had behind closed doors, maybe they could have had a impactful heart to heart that could have changed the course of Kurt's destiny.. im not at all saying "Kurt would be alive had duff invited him over" not at all, but what I am saying is there's always a slight chance any kind of genuine show of kindness or in this case a invite to hangout with someone who seems very lonely, I'm saying we never know what kind of impact that kind of gesture would have had on Kurt for the better. what im saying is if u feel like someone needs an open ear or seemingly could use some company whether the individual is ur best friend or a passing acquaintance, we should always follow our initial gut feeling n throw out the invite, maybe they accept or maybe they turn it down, but on the off chance they DO accept and all they needed was someone to listen to them, it could make all the difference for that individual even if it just seems like "just another day just another invite" to you, to them the gesture may be just what they needed to find the motivation to keep on moving and not give up.

I remember GNR praising several alternative rock bands early on. They were already huge fans of Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, and Faith No More by the time "Alternative Nation" exploded. For all that was undeniably cheesey about GNR (Axl specifically), they were also quite adventurous, considering when and where they originated, and had a definite appreciation for others more adventurous artistry.
@thetribalist69234 жыл бұрын
GNR was extremely adventurous musically. Coma, November Rain, Civil War, Double Talking Jive, Breakdown, the Garden, and an acoustic album before any of the grunge bands did unplugged. If you ask me, the short amount of time nirvana was here made so much progress than I believe that guns and roses did. I think nirvana had more talent and smoke more with their music. I also love how cobain spoke in poetry and art. I think cobain was a major reason why 90's what it was. I simply think nirvana is a little better. But I still think guns n roses are a great all time band

honestly, you can’t say if one was better than the other. two bands born in two different times and that lead two different lives. also, if you search up Guns N’ Roses’ story and how they became what they are now then you’ll see they are pretty legendary. really the embodiment of Rock n’ roll!

@@4evrmind agree absolutely. GnR cane up in a completely different era.

I know people who love both Nirvana and GnR music, I know people who love GnR and hate Nirvana, but I don't know anyone who likes Nirvana and hate GnR

Because only fools hate GnR. Nirvana was a fad that ran it's course like most fads. GnR made timeless music.

Guns and Roses, while iconic, blow ass bruh. Nirvana is overrated as well, even though I like them. Meshuggah is where its at
