This is one of my favorite Phantom of Opera songs. It’s hard learning to be lonely. The Phantom had to learn to be lonely and so did Raohl after Christine died. Being lonely is hard but it isn’t forever.

Great 'skill' to have though! And I didn't know Christine died?

In the final scene of the movie, 49 years later, we see Raohl at the cemetery placing the music box by Christine’s (who had passed 3 years earlier) grave. We then see a rose with a black ribbon tied in a bow with a pearl in the middle next to the grave as well which was attributed by the Phantom to show that he had truly come to love her after learning to be lonely and realizing obsession wasn’t love. It’s a very beautiful last scene and having Learn to be Lonely playing in the background makes it so much more so. I suggest (if you haven’t) you watch the movie and see what I mean.

@@arizona_9551,what's with your eyes? It wasn't pearl,it was her ring!

Very clean playing. I feel like I'm saying the same thing on all your videos, but it's true. When I think of your performances, I think of something where every detail has been given a lot of attention--something very polished.
@jeremyngpiano8 жыл бұрын
Well, it's true! I really pride myself on my attention to detail in music. It's very important to me, even if the layperson may not necessarily appreciate these nuances.

I'm sure at least 98% of people don't unfortunately.
@jeremyngpiano8 жыл бұрын
Which is why it's important for me that the reason I put in my best effort is primarily for myself to appreciate. The bonus would be for the 2% who can as well. Can't really say it's an unfortunate thing though. I used to think that way. People have their different interests and the few things in life that they are immersed in. It's just that for 98% of people, it isn't music.

***** I agree, you should do it for yourself. In fact, in a few of my older videos I didn't polish the pieces like I should have. I did it because I knew most people wouldn't notice. People didn't, but I did, and it still bothers me.

It takes balls of steel to show vulnerability to the degree that you just did with the description box. I can't say that I've had such an experience yet, so I have no advice. But knowing of your intelligence, I'm certain that you'll take lessons from it somehow. Nice arrangement, too.

Awesome arrangement and performance. Unrequited love hurts like hell; but the pain diminishes over time. It's ironic - the piece you chose. But man, you're still young! You're not going to have any trouble finding love. You've got a lot to offer. Keep on playing, and leave the door to love open.
@jeremyngpiano8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your kind words man. I'm much better already and I will definitely keep playing regardless. It's funny you mention unrequited love because I've just recorded something that's called just that. It's hardly love I have to admit actually, but I guess sometimes I like to overdramatize things, haha.
