well in the novel Carlotta does have a brilliant voice as does christine but both are much more opera-y so it takes a specific ear. (the movie took a more modern vocal choice) its all on what you like. so carlotta is obviously talented in the movie and book it just depends on how much you like opera. im ok with opera but i dont like carlottas voice
