Interesting thing to note about the ring, in the Stage Show it’s the Phantoms ring she returns to him, and I’ve always made the case that she didn’t have to do that, if she hated him she could have just chucked it into the lake as she ran off…I always felt it was just an excuse to see him one more time LOL But it was the Phantoms ring that he always wears on his pinky finger all the time, we never really see Raoul’s ring in the show as the Phantom rips it off Christine’s neck and probably throws it away. But in the movie there is only ONE ring, it’s Raoul’s ring that she give back to him, it wasn’t his ring in the first place, so why did she go back to give it to him? Well she never wore it for Raoul, she wore it around her neck remember? The only person she put it on her finger for was the Phantom, right before she kissed him. So in that moment it DID become the Phantoms ring to her, because he was the one she wore it for, and since she’s now leaving with Raoul, it wouldn’t be right to wear it for him anymore when it’s now tied to the Phantom, so she returns it to him.

I never understood why, in this version, Erik claimed that no one had ever loved or shown him compassion. Clearly, Madame Giry looked him in the eyes and helped him escape. She risked her own safety for him, even though she barely knew him, offering him shelter, food, and companionship. She was his accomplice in everything. Besides, I've always thought that Erik might actually be Meg’s father, but that’s just a wild idea from my imagination

It is 2024 l loved this film. I watched it several times after it came out. The music is fantastic, the production, the sets, the costumes, the cast the orchestra all were fabulous. Gerard Butler oozes male sexuality. He is so seductive. He is the very best phantom.
