A film about a northern pheasant and partridge shoot. There are clips of the birds being put to wood, feeding the birds, predator control and a shoot day.
The team of guns that were shooting today were great shots and as you can see had great banter with each other, which is what it is all about......enjoying the game.
If you don't agree with shooting, then just don't watch it...find something on leaf collecting instead!
If you want to follow us, check out 'Pheasant Dynasty' on Facebook

A great video, townies watch these sorts of video and haven't got a clue. They come out with comments like you are cruel but they don't see the cruelty that goes on in factory farming. Did I see some Golden Pheasants at the beginning? They were certainly different to the normal ones.
@freedomofabird

+enginemaker Thanks! We have had golden pheasants before, but those were Reeves Pheasants. They are comical and follow the quad everywhere. Territorial too!

Great video. Thanks for posting. Were those some Hungarian partridges around the 4 minute mark?
@freedomofabird
@freedomofabird 7 жыл бұрын
+MT scott Thanks! No those were Redlegs, or French Partridge. The bird you are referring to Is the English partridge (Hungarian). We do have a wild stock of English, but they are rare and we don't shoot them.

Great vid guys! Quick question - what's the critter at 4:18? Is it a stoat/weasel? We don't really get them here in Australia, so am curious Cheers, and keep up the good work!
@freedomofabird
@freedomofabird 7 жыл бұрын
AzzurrA Thank you. Yes the one you talk about is the Stoat. The smaller one after it is the Weasel. Both of them live off small animals and birds, but at nesting time the Stoat does a tremendous amount of damage to ground nesting birds, particularly on the moors. The Stoat will also climb small trees to reach nests and will easily chase down and kill fully grown rabbits, something i have witnessed on several occasions. Like all predators they are great to study and we control them where necessary.

Thanks for the reply! Always interesting to learn about animals on another continent! Was in the UK in November last year and was offered the opportunity to participate in a shoot but unfortunately my tight schedule didn't allow it - I would love to get back there in the next couple of years and take part in one!

as a person that shoots foxes all year round sometimes i question is it all worth it going out at the dead of night controlling foxes to protect game when in all sense we are going to shoot them anyway and trapping magpies and grey crows, anyway great video.
@freedomofabird
@freedomofabird 7 жыл бұрын
+Irishfoxer We are out 7 nights a week between us, controlling foxes, but you have to look at the bigger picture. We are controlling them for the protection of livestock as this is serious hill farming country, and also for the preservation of ground nesting birds. By that i don't just mean game birds, but all the waders such as Curlew, Oystercatchers, Woodcock, snipe etc not to mention the short earred owls. The RSPB forget to mention this when they talk about game shoots, and many other non shooters just don't realise this fact. Thanks for both watching and commenting, i am glad you enjoyed it, happy hunting.
