The Phillies have been looking for a right-handed-hitting outfielder for months. They got their man on Friday, when they acquired Austin Hays from the Orioles for Seranthony Domínguez and Cristian Pache.
First reactions following the deal?
Well, the Phillies didn’t give up a single prospect, meaning they still have plenty of quality players to deal to get a big bullpen arm.
By trading Domínguez, the Phillies opened the door to acquiring more than one bullpen arm for the stretch drive.
By acquiring Hays, Brandon Marsh could see more time in center field with Johan Rojas.

My favorite player on the Orioles was traded. 😢 I live in Baltimore and love the Orioles, I have an Austin Hays jersey because a we have the same last name Hays no E. I will always be a Orioles and Austin Hays fan, both teams are in first place, hope we meet in the World Series. 😊

This was a really good trade. The Phillies are finding out hard way that Brandon Marsh is a fourth outfielder and Johan Rojas is a defensive replacement at best. Pache was giving you nothing and Dominguez is unreliable on a contending team. Austin Hays will be productive in this lineup.

Solid acquisition. I think Austin Hayes never really got a good shot with the Orioles. Highly touted prospect. Excited to see him play on a regular basis. You can then move Marsh to center, as he is ice, cold, and bat him at the bottom of the order.

He’s played over a hundred fourty games the past 3 seasons lol was an all star last year. Didn’t get good run this year, sure. But to say he’s never gotten everyday playing time isn’t factual. Love the acquisition as well tho, now go get a dominant arm!😊

Phillies lineup is mediocre. Dombrowski can’t be watching the games. If the pitchers aren’t perfect we don’t stand a chance.
