@@zeus4885 dude, as a die-hard Rockets fan, I won't lie, it has been really tough watching the team being the laughing stock of the leauge for a while. BUT, we have been improving drastically, and we got one of THE most promising young core in the NBA. To answer your question, we were never in purgatory, since we went through the pain with a clear goal to rebuild the team and compete for championship soon. On the other hand, being a fan loyal to a team that shows no future path or hope, that is purgatory.

@@kurtywj That’s very well said actually and I totally agree with you. But the Suns are 54 years old and this cursed franchise has never won a championship. Been waiting my entire life for it, and I was all for the Suns mortgaging their future to go ALL IN on a window centered around Booker and Durant. If it pays off, the Suns can spend the next decade as bottom dwellers and it’ll be worth it. And if it doesn’t, I’ll still say it was the right move to aggressively go for it. If I thought there was no hope for this Suns team, I’d say absolutely they should get their picks back from Houston and some of their young talent in return for Book or KD. But there were several factors that led to them having such a disappointing season last year that I believe can and will be improved or fixed, and I don’t think our new owner will even consider a rebuild, even if it becomes clear that it’s the right course of action. He’ll invest anything and everything he can into this window with KD because he’s an aggressive personality who said the word “championship” literally 27 times in the media availability after the season. I just can’t picture him bailing on what he’s already invested so much into. But if KD wants out at any point, that changes everything. Because KD leaving Phoenix means Book is probably going to want out too.

I agree with you, with Budenholzer onboarded as the new HC, it's pretty clear that Sun's new owner probably wants to see this through, for better or for worse. I feel like dunn is usable, but in a league where few defenses can slow down elite offenses, Kolek's offense greatly outweighs his defensive liabilities, plus he will also be near his ceiling once the big 3 era is done, so booker will have either a great backup pg already or starting pg to have by him. Basically just try to imagine how much more explosive Kolek would make the suns look against teams like wolves, nuggets, celtics, versus trying to imagine how many stops Dunn could get against those same teams and pray he kill the offense at the same time

The Rockets don't want KD. They want to move their draft timeline further out. They are still developing their young core and can't add anymore of these guys in the near future. They don't really want this years pick but this "weak" draft makes the pick less valuable compared to future picks. If the rockets were to trade with the Suns it would be for Booker and Allen not KD.

Even if the suns draft Kolek Beal isn't getting benched, there are a number of things that went wrong last season that starts off with firing monty and replacing him with a defensive minded coach. There are a few critical areas they need to address this offseason and next year y’all will see why it’s never smart to jump to conclusions after one season together. Ask Dallas who missed the play-in with Kyrie, then made the Finals the following season

Trade makes sense to me. Rockets give Jalen Green who will be very expensive soon and teams have set amount of rookie extension and max will go to Sengun and they want to keep other room for upcoming young guys like Bari, Tari, Amen and Cam. They gotta package this years 3rd which Rockets don’t have rooms to play them next season other than Reed. So basically Rockets only loosing Jalen for KD which is crazy good deal. Line up of FVV, Dillon, Jabari, KD, Sengun and bench of Adam, Tari, Amen, Cam sounds like a formidable team

I’m a suns fan through and through and on one hand I don’t think KD will go anywhere at least for this season because you don’t hire a coach like bud who has won it all for nothing ..however I wish people understood basketball is a long game. These quick stovetop recipe championships NEVER WORK ..I think because the fact that we are a franchise that hasn’t won yet and so desperately wants to, we ignore this fact but we will be in purgatory for ANOTHER 10 years just like the majority of the 2010’s ….the moves this front office made will hurt us and if don’t win..it will all be for not.
