Which would result in an elliptical orbit I guess? I never came across wavy orbits. If so, it should be mentioned.

Newton already demonstrated that the only kind of orbit due to a central force like gravity is elliptical, parabolic or hyperbolic. There is no other possibility. Dybia even said something about this kind of orbits but did not realize that that the orbit he got is actually elliptical.

The oscilation you got is equivalent to the elliptical orbit, in wich there is a maximum aproach to the sun and then it goes to a maximum distance.

If planetary motion ocurrs in a plane, it means that Earth's motion around Sun must be in a plane but ,since the Sun itself orbiting the centre of galaxy which means planetary motion doesn't truely ocurrs in a plane rather the plane is moving in a particular direction which is the direction of Sun's orbital motion around the centre of galaxy. 😊

I don't think this kind of oscilation is possible. The period you got is the same as the period of one revolution. Because the force is the negative of the derivative of potential, the planet must have a force acting against the gravitational force to have the oscilation you proposed.

Veritasium is for general public. In this channel he really teaches the subject and explains as we were physics students. Compare the video he made about the relation between Magnetism and Relativity wiht the video Veritasium made about the same subject. Veritasium did not go into the mathematical details. This guy did.

I love Veritasium, but that kind of channel is not a way of studying nothing. For example, this channel has a playlist about Special Relativity with all demonstrations and etc. You will not find this is Veritasium or Physics Girl or Vsauce etc.
