For several years people asked me if a picture of a little girl sitting on Elvis’ lap made in his living room was me. I never knew for sure and although I never said yes it was me, many times I said ‘it could be me, or people would say it has to be me, or the like. She did resemble me at that age. Last year, it was brought to my attention that a certain fellow knew the story behind the identity of the little girl and that it was not me. I subsequently did research over this past year as I promised the fellow who identified her, shook his hand and promised to tell her story. I found quite a bit of info that corroborated the main part of the story but, the little girls older brother did not for whatever reason follow through with photos he promised to send so I could follow through on the video tribute I promised the original fellow. I’m being accused of being a liar by someone who says they are now making a video about the little girl. So, I felt an obligation to keep my word that I gave when I shook the original mans hand, for if the new video person brought out info and continued the personal slurs toward me, it would defeat the purpose of revealing the young girl in the picture story, which was to identify and honor her. I submitted this to my Facebook group yesterday evening, and here now to honor the promise and the memory of Lee Ann Long.
