I was in Oregon at the time and the radio kept playing Elvis songs over and over again with no break between them. Finally, after an hour or so, they paused and announced that Elvis had died that day. I was in shock because I thought it was a special anniversary or celebration. It never dawned on me that it was because Elvis was dead. I still remember that day like it was yesterday. So sad.

I was driving and heard it on the radio. I pulled into a mall and just sat there. I didn't want anything, but I decided to go into the store and walk around and try to absorb the fact that Elvis was gone. Shocked and wondering what would music be like without Elvis? As I walked into the store, to my surprise, there was a ton of Elvis memorabilia right by the door. I wondered how that could have been since it was just being announced, but I thought... the Colonel was still TCB. I bought the Blue Album and still have it. Elvis being gone was like the loss of a family member, you never forget them. It's like the song..."you were always on my mind". You hear music and think... Elvis. He represented a monumental era in history, that we lived through, he changed the music and made it ok to be different and do what you feel is right, he liberated the young people and a new era began, it's not unusual that John Lennon said long before the Beatles, "before Elvis there was nothing". There was Elvis and everyone else. He's in a category all by himself.

The day Elvis passed, I was changing my new baby girl's diaper, had the T.V. on...I turned around to see the news going past on the screen. My heart broke. I loved his music, and his sense of humor, and what appeared to be great love for his family and others. Since then, I had a Grandson now 20, born on August 16th, and my precious Daddy passed on August 16th. I still listen to his music. At the end of the day... he was human, just like all of us...with a gift that we got to enjoy. I always felt sadness for his daughter, who missed out on getting to grow up with her Daddy, as many children do. Just a reminder that it doesn't matter anyone's age or fame, when it's our time to leave this world, that's what happens. Enjoy life....it Truly Is a Gift.

I have watched Gingers interview again. I meant that she has matured since then & remained a pretty woman. I always believed she was not matured enough to handle & understand Elvis & his way of life. I believe that if Linda Thompson was still with him she would have realized Elvis was gone from bed too long & would have immediately got up to check on him & maybe just maybe she would have found him on time to be saved. She always watched him like a Baby. Too bad they broke up but Linda couldn't live that life anymore. But I BELIEVE She was the Best woman for him & Lisa Marie loved her. Getting back to Ginger one thing that gets me is that she was an old fashioned country girl & wouldn't move into Graceland. Ha! She claims she was there 98% of the time & naturally IN HIS BED. SHE WAS IN HIS BED WHILE HE WAS DYING IN THE BATHROOM. IT DEFINITELY WAS WRONG OF HER FAMILY TO LOOK FOR MONEY FROM HIM AFTER HE DIED. MY PRECIOUS ELVIS RIP 🙏 🕊

Ginger my ass. His true love was Priscilla. Ginger was 20 and he was 42. He was looking to capture his love with Priscilla which he said he would ALWAYS love. Ginger was just a toy for show. He never would have married her. Not in a million years. He and Priscilla were SoulMates and it’s March, 2023 and LisaMarie has also passed in the same fashion as her father. RIP ELVIS and LISA MARIE🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈

@@sandraalfieri1900 You have no idea. Best you keep your "dream world" to yourself. You're spreading lies. Elvis couldn't stand Pri$cilla and was forced into marriage, his own words..recorded. He knew who and what pri$cilla was years before he died. She was trying to take him to court a 4th time at the time of his death, for more money. She's his EX WIFE of only 3 years. Elvis sad to say would NEVER have got his health back , something that isn't mentioned much about elvis is he had TBI Traumatic Brain Injury! leading up to 1974 he was fine 74-77 he was bad and went down hill fast reason why he died so early , He had 3 Serious Brain Injurys, in his life the first in 1967. The many factors in the decline of Elvis's health & early death was 1,Repeated head Trauma 2, His poor diet the weight/gain that put an Enormous strain on his heart. 3, Codeine (he got from Dentist the night before his death ). Elvis was never the same after Multiple Head Trauma can cause an autoimmune inflammatory disorder that can attack any organ in the body & did for Elvis.Some of the post trauma symptoms include memory loss, obsessive compulsive traits, and irrational or illogical behavior. which explains giving to complete strangers On the spur of the moment trips etc. Elvis developed such pain during the last few years of his life. Patients with TBI have constant pain, insomnia, depression, and a variety of mental impairments.probably contributed to his deterioration.Head trauma causes brain tissue to be jarred loose, and leak into the general circulation. Brain tissue is not supposed to enter the blood circulation because it is toxic, Antibodies form & then start attacking normal tissue causing further damage to the brain. they attack the joints, eye, heart, liver all things Elvis suffered from. Elvis clearly suffered multi organ attacks Inflammation of the arteries in the heart & brain. At times he had to use a cane to walk. Elvis clearly knew he was deathly ill & was clearly deteriorating.

If you watch the most recent documentary his bodyguard witnessed a semi concious Elvis being revived with ice water by his Dr as his Manager Colonel Parker shouted that he had to get on stage come what may . The Colonel had million dollar gambling debts to pay, hence Elvis's punishing 7 shows a week Vegas schedule, even when battling a painful genetic bowel condition, glaucoma & prescription pill addiction.

My brain has short circuited having tried to read and understand all of the analysis of the mental and emotional state of Elvis and how he lived his life as stated with such authority from supposedly those in the know. It means nothing as nobody (family, friend, partner or professional) will ever be able to present the REAL truth or the REAL Elvis. In my opinion, the only thing that matters is what Lisa Marie thinks and knows about her father. It's a great pity that he did not live long enough for her to know him as an adult. I can't imagine what she, as his direct descendant and daughter, must think of all this continuous bombardment and nastiness of those who try to tell us all who and what Elvis was and did or did not do. If it was me I'd be furious at the barefaced ignorance and arrogance of those who believe they are the authority on Elvis or believe they are entitled to voice it. His public face showed a man who was a great entertainer, loved by many for his talent, generosity and humility. Deep down it must have been and probably still is very painful for Lisa Marie to hear/read what some people say about her father in such a way. People need to move on from all of this negativity and in fighting and focus more on what Elvis gave to all of us and what Lisa Marie has had to share with us whether she wanted to or not.

The reason I think Priscilla didn't age well is because she was to worried about aging so she did one to many plastic surgeries. There is only so much plastic can do before your features begin to change and you continue to age, even plastic surgery can't fully stop time. Shame, she should have let nature take its' course.
@beverlymarkley4692
@beverlymarkley4692 8 жыл бұрын
what part did you not understand? let me clarify something for you. I have worked in nursing for many years. each plastic surgery only lasts for a given period, some do not wait to get another performed. your body aging process is still going on after the plastic surgery is done, wrinkling, sagging etc. each time they perform a new surgery, more skin must be moved, tightened, added to etc to try and achieve the same look. you can only do a few before the same "young" look cannot be achieved and something else begins to happen, your features begin to change. Priscilla had already begun the process of one to many surgeries at the age Ginger is. Her mouth, eyes and cheekbones are already altered. to many surgeries hastens aging. as you can see from the photo of Ginger, she has not had any or few, therefore if you look at Priscilla at the age of Ginger, she looks older at that period in time!

I find it interesting that the reason Elvis shook his hips was because he use to get so nervous before preforming that his legs would shake so he tried to make it look like he was dancing and meant to do that. Then it eventually became his signature move but that is how it started. Hard to believe that man was ever nervous. RIP king.

That was very sweet. She misses him & he had a lot more left to do. NOW same with Lisa Marie. So sad, so missed.

She misses nothing. And it’s a stupid question to ask a woman who is married and has a child. That was inappropriate of the interviewer.

I know he was a pedophile but when she shakes her head like NO, it makes everything she says seem like a lie. I know it's not, but people need to, be aware of that. Saying YES while shaking your head NO gives an extremely mixed and attention drawing message.

@@justicegraceful2171 everything she ever said was a lie In her interviews she keeps waffling on about "we talked about the wedding we set the date"! Poppycock, there was NO wedding why would she lie & Deceive? she knew before Elvis died he wasn't going to marry her. Elvis had changed his mind why not mention it? and her book no mention in there either. I knew there was something shifty about her little to no emotion when talking about someone she is supposed to love and lost in death very staged no tears looks like a cold wet fish sitting there paraphrasing. Billy his cousin shows more emotion he's always choking up and brought to tears when he talks about him. Elvis told billy smith they argued about several things that night about her going on the tour and that the wedding was off he'd had enough of her Charlie Hodge & Larry Geller said in an interview "Elvis was getting fed up with Ginger by August billy & Jo his wife said it was getting worse near the end the arguments the drama that was Ginger! when he met her she was over 20yrs younger. his time with her was a part of his life that was unhappy cos he wasn't getting wat he needed from a woman. he was probably happy in the beginning with her but as time went on he wasn't anymore the unrest was getting to him his health getting worse couldn't put up with her drama the constant arguments. Larry said Elvis decided he wasn't going to marry her. Larry was licenced in California to marry people Elvis asked Larry to marry them he agreed Larry said several months later Elvis changed his mind. at first he was going to then he said if i marry her i marry the whole family."! however many months it took for Elvis to change his mind Ginger knew the wedding was OFF but she still LIED in her interviews, that last night "We set the Date"! in your dreams ginger. If she was lying about that wat else was she lying about? she's a pathological liar.!

You know they were only dating nine months and she was 20, and Elvis was actually in congestive heart failure. And it’s Ginger who says that they were engaged. Elvis was very generous and gave gifts of expensive jewelry and all kinds of stuff to people. He wanted companionship and he loved to woo women. Many of the the Memphis Mafia members close to Elvis have always disputed that Elvis actually intended to marry Ginger, seeing her as just another of the girlfriends he wooed in order to win over, nothing more. The Presley‘s banned Ginger from Graceland permanently and wanted nothing to do with her right after Elvis died. So there was more to the story then Ginger is telling. They didn’t like her after his death, that she was exploiting his name which she was. Ginger wanted to be the known as the woman who was engaged to Elvis and when she had told that story so long there’s no way to change it. I have no doubt that Elvis loved her, but really, nine months? Please. Elvis was struggling bad that last year with addiction, exhaustion and illness. Many close to him said that - but she acts like he was just peachy. You can see in videos from then he was still a beautiful singer, the best ever, but was going downhill. Heartbreaking. I’m glad that she speaks well of him and makes him seem like a more balanced person in the last year of his life but - that is self-serving because if she said anything bad people would hate her and question what she really meant to him. That doesn’t sell books. Ginger comes off like a well-rounded person now. Yet she also made money off a book she wrote about her nine months of dating Elvis - so that’s very exploitive. No wonder the Presley‘s banned Ginger.

Even little Lisa Marie saw the changes in her daddy and wrote in her diary "please don't die". I agree Ginger seems like a well rounded person now but I don't know how she could have spent 98% of his last nine months with him and failed to notice what a nine year old who was only there part of the time noticed.

Everyone else says they did argue all the time. I can't figure out who was telling the truth. Ginger also said she never saw Elvis take drugs, only vitamins. Not sure we can trust her account.

Staff said they heard Ginger n Elvis yelling at each other ALOT. Many of the guys in the inner circle said Elvis did not plan to marry her. And he was depressed n lonely. I got to meet Charlie Hodge his confidant n best friend n live I believe 17 years at Graceland. He wrote a good book that I read n could tell he really loved Elvis
