The Pig That Wants to be Eaten-BOOK REVIEW

My girlfriend bought me this book when I was in hospital in 2007 at the age of 18, knowing I was a huge fan of Douglas Adams (from where the title gets it's name, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, where Arthur encounters a pig that is very eager to show off it's most tasty parts and can't wait to be eaten). I laughed initially thinking she had made an honest mistake, but she knew exactly what she was doing. It was utterly fascinating to me, I had no real concept or interest in Philosophy up until that point. There are few I remember now, but the one of the Children who are starved of the colour Blue has stuck with me, and yes the ships parts conundrum. I'm glad I found this video, I only searched this because I was looking into revisiting it all these years later. And yes, it is still on my bookshelf. We aren't together anymore but it was one of those life changing presents you can never forget. Thank you for the reminder James. I've subscribed.

That’s a nice little story there. A good introduction to philosophy. I’m thinking about reading this book a second time. I like the way that it presents the ideas in a bite size manner.
