That pig carries such a dark theme from the album and now they discuss it in such a lighthearted manner

it;s the one show, it's a plastic tv show for bland, well adjusted people who've never had a troubled emotion in their lives, it's garbage, daytime tv is garbage.

It's one of a very few elite band who are painstakingly meticulous with every detail not just of their phenomenal music, but also of their live shows, props, album covers and art, merch, instruments, people, etc. That explained how they achieved their unequalled brilliance, supremacy, fan-love, and success. The band can demand it as they don't mind the monetary cost it may cost them, that's why their fans love them. The band deserved to command that level of respect and attention to detail which only a handful can do.

What an incredibly amazing band. Almost superhuman. It's hard to believe how talented they are and just as hard to believe that they are no longer creating those masterpieces. RIP Richard Wright.

I went to that exhibition, it was pretty amazing. Loved seeing all the stage props, the teacher from the Wall, the light bulb suit and the Gestapo style outfit Rogers wore in the concerts from The Wall. The best part was seeing the metalheads as that album cover Is pretty special. I bought The Division Bell in San Francisco and got ask the usual where you from question from the cashier. I replied, the UK. When asked Whereabouts I just said, "Oh about five miles from where that photo was taken". Then watched as the guys jaw hit the floor. He was a massive Floyd fan.

Not the original algie either, the original was deemed not Air worthy in 2011 when the band wanted to use it again to help promote the remasters releases, I suppose this must be the replica they had made?
@standandeliver83765 жыл бұрын
Sean Lee, I'm not sure they would have been able to use the original even if it was in good condition. Since the legal "dispute" between Waters and the rest of the band in the eighties, they have been using a pig with testicles in their live shows to indicate that it is a different gender and therefore a different character.

Not the original pig. Also,the pig escapes the SECOND day of the shoot. The first days shoot was deemed unworthy because the sky was a plain blue. The marksmen didn't show the next day and that's when the Pig escaped. The pig on the cover was actually inserted later on because the background sky was so striking.

How the fuck can you do a feature about Pink Floyd Album covers and not include Storm Thorgerson ? clueless
@juissi9546 жыл бұрын
Might have something to do with the fact that he's dead

And also, they had the actual photographer there. Aubrey Powel... Storm didn't take the photo, he just designed the album cover.

I was 12 years old in '77 when Pink Floyd played Soldiers Field, Chicago. I was at Shedd Aquarium with my late Mom & brother, which was nearby to the concert. We saw the Pig floating around that day...

plus , it was only Waters who studied architecture , not all of them. What a thoroughly uninformed and pathetic piece of broadcasting - amateurs all. Rick Wright would be turning in his grave at this mess.

Peter Ion no it wasn't. It was Richard Wright and Nick Mason as well. The 3 of them met at Architect collage in Regent St. Roger, Syd and Dave Gilmour new each other from Cambridge from where they came. Don't bother replying. I'm not arguing about something I know to be fact

Pink Floyd- jolly good show folks, I hope I can see it. Can't make it over the pond, sorry to say. Been a rough 10 years filled with poor health and caring for my Mom who sadly passed away this past March. But I've been a major Pink Floyd fan and seen every tour since 1975 in Philadelphia pa USA - starting with what was a jam session of sorts- a combination of Wish You Were Here and Animals- with interim song titles like Ravibg and Drooling, You Got To Be Crazy, etc. nobody knew what to expect. That's what made my first Pink Floyd concert a most memorable experience. And that mirror ball at the end of the first set- wow! Part if the exhibition I hear. Then 77- Animals- where Roger threatened to walk off the stage because imbeciles where exploding fireworks- I was equally pissed- And course- my still #1 concert of all time- Pink Floyd performing The Wall live at Nassau Coliseum- Because it was new music, very limited tickets I would never had scored had it not been for meeting the lovely girl who'se Mom worked the same ticket outlet that was so evasive when I tried getting tickets for Zep's physical graffiti tour. Too bad I hadn't met her 3 months earlier. Well, shine on, and I'll be joining you there- on tv anyway! Cheers!
