One of the most popular figures on the Food Network is Ree Drummond, who loves butter, basset hounds and Ethel Merman. The bestselling cookbook author and the figure behind the top-rated cooking show, not to mention Pioneer Woman magazine, tells Alina Cho, "I'm not a trained chef … I really am a mom who cooks for her family." We also meet Ree's cattle-herding husband, Ladd Drummond, with whom she transformed the small town of Pawhuska, Okla., into a tourist destination.

The part with her singing was so cute! You could tell she was nervous, but went through with it anyway. Her husband was much more open in this interview than he is on the show. His face lit up a little. It's nice to see him be so supportive of her. And what a handsome man.

The reason everyone including myself like her is because of how relatable and down to earth she is. My husband and I got lucky when we were at her mercantile....She was there. She was very welcoming and talked to you like you and her were the best of friends. It's that realness that everyday people like. And the food she makes is for the average person. And I must say, We average people thank her.

I remember house-sitting at an exclusive country club in some gorgeous homes. It was only these women who could afford the exclusive lines of dishes, casserole dishes, cups, and glasses and cookware, such as Fitz and Floyd from Dillard’s. Now, with great thanks to Ree Drummond, we all can have even more beautiful items for cooking, serving, and hosting because her things are more beautiful and special because we associate them to someone who is like a friend, someone we feel we truly know.

There is nothing bad about this lady or her family.. they have worked hard for what they have and share with us .. she is a genuine, lovely delightful person and we enjoy watching her shows since we found them by accident.. would love to go over and see the ranch and the store but probably never will being here in the UK.. So refreshing to watch a show where there is really nothing to moan about as everything is so pleasant as are the stars of it.

Like the way her recipes are simple yet delicious. They are a beautiful couple & family. I truly think they have saved that small town of Oklahoma. Being ranchers is hard work. I’m sure they had to hire several people to help on this ranch to help work on the ranch. This ranch is huge & the family can’t do all this work themselves. It’s great to see this whole family so blessed by their hard work.

There were two other farm type shows (one was hosted by Sandra Bullock's sister, and the other I can't remember) but Ree of course having her longevity and Molly who is new young and fresh, i suppose beat the others out....

Hi my family is from Pawhuska so I’ve watched it most of my 68 years and what goes on. But Pawhuska has been slowly dying for years what Rea has done is brought it back to life and brought it back into the national prominence that it deserves at one time Pawhuska had more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the world it has a long history that’s worth looking into I agree on her development of the downtown area it has Breathe life back in that town thank you Rea the locals may not like you but I sure do.

Keith Burns The book “Killers of the Flower Moon” (David Grann) tells a fascinating story of that area and the Osage Tribe. It also makes mention of the names of many of those famous millionaires.

Weed 'em & Reap Because they’re sleepy little town is getting way too busy and they can’t do their normal routine‘s they’re used to having a nice quiet little town when I was younger my grandma Bessie used to take me downtown to go shopping and at that time in the 50s it used to look a lot a lot like what it does now that really has opened up her Mercantile and you can’t hardly move around there so many people now I love it it reminds me of the way it used to be but the locals can’t get to the post office to get their mail they can’t drive through town unimpeded and that’s why some of the locals don’t like her

@@Weedemandreap Envy, Jealousy, not wanting to change. We have a local guy that made it big. He is investing in his hometown area and people are unhappy about what he is doing. Same ole...complain about the town dying, not changing etc. then when someone is willing to take a chance and change things,... it is not what so and so wanted etc....

Ree and I have similar life stories in miniature, city girl, middle of nowhere, homeschool, ranching, home cooking because there's literally nowhere else to go. I REALLY don't have aspirations to be as busy as her! Yeah, my lazy bone is tired just thinking about her life. LOL More power to her!!
