So what if we have to trade THJ, Harris, or Fontecchio they were never meant to be long term solution or to get the team to championships level. You just said it. The only team you fear is Boston. If you think you can fight for a conference championship, you try to get players that can help you win. You darn well know if both hands are at full strength we wouldn't win. Let me be straight, I don't think the Pistons can win even if we get a star player, but the experience the team get can help them propel to that ring a year or two from now.

Let me help you guys out since you don't look at the big picture. Let's talk about what other people are talking about. The possibility of Jimmy Butler, Bradley Beal, or Zach Lavine being traded and how the Pistons can benefit. The other team that's looking to get involved are the Bucks. No, it's not Pat Connaughton, but wait for it. Bobby Portis. A real stretch big that can play the 4 or 5. Plays defense, 36% from 3. Perfect off the bench with Stewart and can start sometime if we need to have a double big lineup. With Tobias playing sf, to maximize scoring and opening the floor up more for Cade. You would be looking at the 4 or 5 seed and highly likely at least a trip to the 2nd round in the playoffs. I've said since last year even when we sucked that this team was only a few pieces from being good, but you two doom and gloom just kept burying Weaver when you knew it was Monty and Gores' fault
@scottwickett12738 күн бұрын

@Shaw_Cardboard_Treasures10 күн бұрын
Lmao about we should wait to get a star player. Wait for what? If there is talent available, you get that talent. We all know that the Pistons need another above average player to go along with Cade. Waiting another year will only make it more expensive. The reason the Weaver tore the team down was to get to this level. He didn't get a chance to finish the job, and now Langdon has the opportunity to get the team back to what the fans they want as a reward for the suffering.

@Shaw_Cardboard_Treasures10 күн бұрын
@AnthonyJones-j6g what finish developing? Cade is a star. Ivey has proven that he is good. The more offensive we get, the more we can play Ausar. Ausar and Duren is a defensive force(check the stats). Holland is coming off the bench and getting playing time that only makes him better. The better the 1st unit is, the more time the 2nd unit can play.

@@Shaw_Cardboard_Treasureswe don't have the assets to get an actual star. Gutting the roster for a big name who doesn't fit or isn't even an All Star this year is a terrible idea. If Someone like Booker, or Giannis, is available that changes things.

I'm at a lost. You guys talking about getting role player. This team is beyond that. Weaver came in here to tear the team down and rebuild it. You guys destroyed him before he finished the job. Well, the team has talent that he brought in. It has a manageable salary cap. It has role players. Trajan has used one year, getting the team to respectability. Now you want him to wait another year to find out what he has on the team. The team is showing you what they can do, get them what they need. A quality wing that can score.

It’s like we are not living on the same planet. In order to compete in the playoffs you need Levine(upgraded Jaden Ivey) or another superstar type talent. Lonzo Ball or Colin Sexton are not going to help us win a playoff series. Ask LeBron and AD? Ask Gainnis? Ask New York. No Risk No Reward.

Thanks for watching. I don’t disagree that they need to add an all-star to the team. They will if they want to become true contenders at some point. I just don’t feel Zach LaVine or Brandon Ingram are the right guy to push the chips in for right now. I would wait and see who is available in the offseason. For now, this team is winning and looks to be a playoff team. They could make a slight roster upgrade, get into the playoffs, compete in a series or two, and build on that heading into next season. Again, appreciate you watching our show. - Aaron

Saving draft picks from 2029, 2030, or 2031 means diddle squat to this young core. In 2029, Cade will be in year 9, and that late rd pick shouldn't mean a damn thing. Also, those that think we can get a star player any time we want without giving up a core piece are delusional. Young talented players rarely become available and teams want a ransom back in return. So out of the core that's on this team who has the least upside to this team but still has value. That is Stewart. So if that means getting Lavine, Cam or MPJ then so be it. Now I wouldn't Stewart and a 1st for Cam. And we all know we would have to do that for Lavine.
@ZachErickson-022210 күн бұрын
2029, 2030, and 2031 1st round picks are very valuable assets to the organization, including the young core. Those are the assets that will most likely be needed when the Pistons are knocking on the door (Think trade deadline 2027), and need that one extra piece to get them to contender level. Trajan understands this, and will continue to let this core grow and develop by adding culture enhancing vets like we picked up this year.
@pheralanpathfinder489710 күн бұрын
@@ZachErickson-0222That's why Trahan set the Pistons up to use cap to get draft picks at this deadline. Plus trading assets for ift injured players who aren't likely to make the All Star game this season sounds like a really bad idea.
@Shaw_Cardboard_Treasures10 күн бұрын
@pheralanpathfinder4897 The longer he waits, the less likely he is able to get that player. Other teams will have cap space, too . Plus, if he doesn't extend Ivey this summer on a non max contract, he is going make a big mistake.
@ZachErickson-022210 күн бұрын
@ We don't even know who that player will be at this point, so doesn't make sense to guess right now. There are still a lot of question marks with the young core we have. Once we see who develops and hits their potential, then we see where the remaining holes are that we need and use assets to trade for that mystery man in a couple years.
@pheralanpathfinder489710 күн бұрын
@@Shaw_Cardboard_Treasures the problem is that we don't have the assets to get a star unless we gut the Weaver Core. Betting on random big contracts who play 50 games a year or less isn't going to help us get out of the first round. Look what happened with the Blake trade. One great regular season then buried under bad cap for four years.
