I forgot about him tossing his glove to first because the ball got wedged in the webbing. Still makes me chuckle as that was probably one of his better base throws.

I remember the few times Lester did field the ball when he was with the cubs he would specifically throw the ball at the ground short of 1B and the ball would bounce off the ground to the first basemen Rizzo to get the batter out lol.

I remember one time when Lester got an easy pickoff at first while with the Cubs because the baserunner was so shocked Jon would even try to throw to first. I think it was the first time Lester tried a pickoff throw to first in a few years. It was a funny scene to watch unfold. 🤣

My favorite part about Lester is when he first came over he was abysmal at hitting but as time went on, he turned into a really good hitter. BTW I severely dislike the universal DH. Fight me.

Honestly I think it's better for the game. Both AL and NL playing by the same rules makes more sense, plus pitchers can focus more on pitching and not a below average at bat. Starters by far have the highest workload and exertion on the field where injury rates are highest compared to other other positions (50+% of total injuries are from pitchers). It certainly made for some great moments and the unexpected legendary at bat once in a while. Completely understandable that you prefer the old rule tbh

@@jayinthebx What about him? Teams can still pinch hit with pitchers, so hopefully we can still see him hit once in a while. There's also Michael Lorenzen who can hit well too. My favorite was Dontrelle Willis though, now he was someone who could hit and run the bases faster than a lot of position players

Hall of very good. 5x AS, no Cy Youngs (runner up once, but 3 rings helps tho), barely 200 wins (200 even), didn’t even get 2500 Ks, 3.66 career ERA and 3.78 career FIP. 43.5 bWAR. Many better players (Pettitte, Buehrle, Hamels, Hershiser, Johan Santana, Roy Oswalt, King Felix) are just some of the guys who retired who have a higher WAR than him who aren’t in the HOF. Current players would include Chris Sale, deGrom, and the recently retired Waino). He’ll get in eventually though, just like MadBum (3.47 career ERA, 134 wins but 4x AS, 3 rings, WS MVP and more

We'll see if C.C. gets enshrined. Should that happen, Lester has a halfway decent shot at the HoF. Their stats are very similar and Lester has a proven post season track record that is far superior than CC, however his shorter career will most certainly hurt his chances.

@@anthonymaslow798 I don't find it annoying, but I can see how someone else can. Such comments as "the KZbin accent is almost unbearable. Please try to talk like a normal person.", though, are unduly critical, do not take ownership of one's own opinions, and offer no actionable feedback. "almost unbearable" Yeah, @robbieberks6304 can't bear it, but that's his own perception. Not everyone agrees with him. I don't. "Please try to talk like a normal person." What does a normal person sound like? What specific changes can MTC make to sound more "normal"? You're offering some specific feedback MTC can act upon. I do find such posts as @robbieberks6304 submitted, though, rather annoying and even somewhat rude.
