Dawah is not an easy process. There are times when you will see no results in your Dawah. We have to understand that this is just part of the process. There are also some reasons why people don't embrace Islam right away. There are multiple factors as to why people would be resistant at first.

As a non-Muslim I definetely agree with many of the points you make, although I draw different conclusions because I'm not religious. You're the only religious scholar of any religion that I can't wait to hear what you have to say when it comes to matters regarding society on a broader level. I have tremendous respect for you!

@@Noor_al_Furqan I dunno, man. A lot of these aren't so convincing. _E.g.:_ *dubious:* _Big Bang:_ "Earth and the skies were joined" is not a description one would naturally ever connect to the Big Bang. Maybe to the formation of the planet, but it sounds a lot more like something else - the Earth and heavens being one in the Good Old Days is not an uncommon theme. _Mountain pegs:_ I don't think they actually do stabilize; consider e.g. Chile: some of the worst earthquakes the world has ever seen, but also, mountains. Perhaps there is new research on this topic, but last I saw there were no mainstream/large-impact geological theories/papers endorsing this idea - just a few Muslim scientists speculating. *_highly_** dubious:* _Bees:_ I don't see nothin' about multiple stomachs! "Drinks of different colors" surely refers to different types of honey, which is, uh... not really so miraculous. _Barriers between seas:_ The interface between two large bodies of water is not something anyone would naturally call a "barrier". _Hieroglyphics:_ This seems like merely a similar poetic construction; is there any reason to suppose it refers to those particular hieroglyphs? Are they special somehow? Is this not a fairly standard praise verse? (I would bet you any sum of money that I could find the text of some Egyptian inscription also repeated in other works from before they were deciphered - it's inevitable, considering the size of the corpora involved.) _Intermittent fasting:_ I don't see anything about health benefits; and just something saying "let's fast guys" is not real uncommon among any ancient textual corpus. *unconvincing:* _Cells made of water:_ Okay, it's a *bit* suggestive - but "Everything was made from water" doesn't appear to say anything about cells or even the current composition of living things... just the origin, which is not technically quite correct (maybe if it would've said "made living things from the tiny thing itself made of six even tinier things", or "made of tiny bags of water", or something). _Iron from sky:_ This... is also *sort of* suggestive, okay, fine - but many ancient peoples talked of iron from the sky due to meteorites, so it's not like *inexplicable,* even without reaching. (If you are fluent in _al-fusHa,_ I would be interested to see if this is using the same verb as the common phrasing for Allah's interactions with us, in other _ayat;_ that is, "sent down" doesn't seem to mean specifically "physically came from outer space" anywhere else, AFAIK.) _Water from sky:_ Is there any reason to suppose this is not talking about, like, rain? If no, case closed, I say; if yes... okay, you got me there, that's impressive (but please see prev. note questioning the actual word used here!). *wait... what?:* _Pulsar:_ ...I got nothin'. hmm. hmm

Maasha Allah..Awesome lecture..jazakallahu khair. May Allah bless his works. . but Group leaders of those times of rasul(sal) explicitly knew what rasul(sal) brought was truth and truth was manifested in their hearts but these leaders obstinately denying the truth and raising non sense queries to rasul(sal) ..The reason is they love this worldly power. Thru that way they deviate common mass in their group from truth. Groupism is true what sheikh said from common mass perspective but not from their leaders perspective. That's the essence. Quran clearly explains this crystal clear. This point we must keep in mind. Islam is not apolitical or political. Islam is spiritual. When I say spiritual it includes all economical, social, rulership oriented. Political word is something tricky. Rasul sal gave power to their own tribes who did not accept Islam as long as they don't wage war against muslims and that means rasul sal did not come to snatch powers but to spiritualise the political environment. That's what Islam did. What sahabahs did the same .. Jazakallahu khair. . In today's world, religipn is considered as private and not public and it was falsely imposed upon mass.. Only in islam, we follow practically public and private life. That's why some of the outsiders to whom truth may be exposed but by using media for ulterior worldly positions or for wealth , they try blaspheme against islam which talks about family and public life. The common mass not aware of these things unconsciously imbibing these things... that's what is happening... Of course some may be unknowingly do that too. Still ultimate guidance is with Allah alone.

RESPECTFULLY, The real problem is, that in today’s society, everyone believes his way, is the only way ... same here ... for one religious leader to to condemn another religious leader’s dawa technique is uncalled for and unnecessary ... everyone has the right to their own opinion, and everyone has the right to decide how they would best propagate Islam, but it is certainly not right to start pointing fingers at others efforts ... if you do not agree, move along, do your own thing, and Inn Sha Allah, you might do much better, and in that way encourage others to follow your path, but do not be vain enough to attack the efforts of many other people to make your point .... ALSO, Respectfully, blaming the internet or current culture or (perceived) failures of other religious leaders for our youth, turning away from is Islam, is ignorant and short-sited! Our youth are failing because many of them have WEAK Imaan to begin with, because their PARENTS, are NOT bringing them up correctly ... Many Parents in non-Muslim countries are not investing enough time and effort to bring up their own children with the right set of mind. We have many instances with strict household, strict rules for kids to abide by, but yet the children are not being brought up in way that teaches them to love Allah, love Quran, and love our Nabi Mohammad (SAW) and love themselves ... It is FAMILY FAILURE, yes brought on by the influences of a great many things, but at the core, the foundation is WEAK!, At the end of the day, if your base is weak, no structure will stand. I’m trying to point the finger at parents BUT it’s their duty in instill the “right mindset” wrt Islam. I also believe we as a Muslim community collectively also bear some responsibility because we have been very slow in identifying, isolating some KEY factors that causing great problems for our youth and how they conduct themselves in this day and age ... there is so much that could be said ...

I think an important facet the Shaykh did not focus on are the great Sufi Shaykhs of the past. The land may have been conquered but the poor masses especially in the subcontinent converted at the hands of the Sufis. Why and how did this happen? My personal take likely influenced by “Richard M. Eaton’s The Rise of Islam and the Bengal Frontier, 1204-1760 (Comparative Studies on Muslim Societies) “ The Sufis through their transformation practices exuded the core values of Islam in their beings, they accepted all comers without questioning and demonstrated genuine love of humanity. They also understood what appeals to the environment they were in and what spiritual balm the people of a particular area needed. As an example the Sufi shrine/dargah replaced the temple. Qawali music replaced the bhajans. I do not agree with people who bow down to shrines or the permissibility of music. Yet, it is possible many of our ancestors initially came into Islam through that door of replacing there Hindu guru with a Muslim guru from one with idols to one without idols, and the transformation continued through generations and today the very descendants of those first Muslims might well be hardcore antiSufi. It wasn’t just conquest, some really amazing people with a deep understanding of Islam, brought the mercy and message of Islam to non Arab people and gave it to them in a way that that people could grasp at an emotional level. Is it possible to appeal at that level to the West, given the deep set environment of Islamophobia permeating society, I’m not so sure, but ultimately Allah is the One that transforms hearts.

The country, the state might be secular not an individual. Secularism separates religion from the constitution and state laws and the secular state should not prefer any religion over any other religion and has the same distance against all religions and atheists. But if a person is secular then he should take all religions equal and accept all and do NOT discriminate whether someone is atheist or worships a cow or rats etc. In a nutshell a muslim can live in peace in a secular country but technically there is NO secular muslim because it contradicts to the faith.

Can't state I agree with him where he says the Prophet couldn't convert the Quraish thru his manners and tongue. First off, the Prophet didn't need to . Second off, the Prophet did bring many into the fold of Islam thru his manner and tongue, and that was the start, i.e. got the ball rolling. So Islam and dawah is not measure by a barometer by how many 1000s we have converted, for dawah to be successful. We don't need to employ a strategy or some kinda war tactic to convert 1000s and be moooost effective. We just need to spread the word be it a verse. And he is wrong where he says the rulers converted to Islam and then the public was forced to follow. Islamic dawah might have found a favourable door into regions once rulers converted, but Islam didn't spread by force in India, Indonesia, it spread thru dawah. Otherwise all of India would have been Muslim, or atleast the entire northern half. It spread thru the tongue. No ruler spread Islam in my region where I am from. Arabs came and settled in my region long ago and spread Islam, with the intention of doing dawah.

Meaning, that it is somebody who KNOWS that Islam is true, but he covers it up for worldy reasons, or arrogance, or whatever. A person who is honest by heart and who looks at Islam, yet perceives it in an inaccurate manner or a manner that conceils the message in some way, and who therefore thinks that Islam is true, isnt really considered a kafir by many of such scholars. The more I listen to the lecture, the clearer it becomes, the honorable Sheikh is confusing dawa with the actual way each and every Muslim should be living, by example. In theory, we as Muslims, as the Muslim community, should be shining examples to others ... forgetting dawah, ALLREADY, BY DEFAULT, us living our Muslim lives, should already be an attraction to others, we SHOULD be living examples to others, even before we bring up a subject of dawah, but are we already setting the right examples? Are we really trying? We should start there BEFORE you attempt tackle the actual subject of dawah! The Honorable Sheikh should be addressing the living Muslim commcommunity and their image, before tackling the perceived problems of dawah. As much as we might have one or two or a handful of soft spoken, spiritual religious leaders calling people to Islam, it will still have very little effect, if our Muslim community does not concisely project their righteousness and Islam.

It seems like that Yasir qadhi is not doing much deep thinking on the stuff he brough up here. We don't have to be embarrased or humiliated or difficulty to speak about the things in the Quran and hadith because there was a time when I couldn't make much sense to some of the things in the Quran which started to make so much sense to me after I started thinking long hard and deep. Just because you fail to make sense to a verse in the Quran does not mean that verse does not make sense. Because Quran is not for a particular age but it's for all age and all people come into this world and are gonna come into this world. So it is not possible to make utterly and perfectly sense to every single verse in the Quran for all people in all age. I mean, the people who lived before us might not have understood or could not have understood some of the verses in the Quran the way we are able to understand now. And the verses in the Quran which we find not comprehensible now will be comprehensible for the people who are going to live here. Quran is meant for all ages and for all the people. Our intelligence and thinking have to grow in order to understand certain verses in the Quran. So please do not reduce Quranic verses to our tiny intelligence just because we don't understand. Time will come up with answeres that will perfectly make sense.

I never imagined I'd witness in my lifetime such intellectual honesty as I have heard here from Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi. The crux of the Islamic argument fails, not because of any rejection of the religion's utility itself, but rather Islam crumbles because the grandiose claims Muslims make (Muslims insisting that the Quran is the perfectly preserved, unaltered word of God, Muhammad being the most pious, virtuous person who ever lived, etc etc) These claims, due to their uncompromising nature of prompting a binary response of true or false, is Russian roulette for the Muslim. Of course those grandiose claims are, not only entirely false, but are completely at odds with the claims themselves........ Moreover, the evidence that demonstrate the claims to false are to be found from within Islam's most revered sources. .....internal contradictions within Islam are so clearly self refuting, the Muslim is often considered to be either dishonest or deluded or both. Perhaps if Muslims dropped the grandiose claims, they might attract real converts. Dr Yasir Qadhi talks about each group being selective when cherrypicking quranic verses / hadiths / Tafsir to elevate and/or denigrate Muhammad. Dr Qadhi is correct and I applaud him. But there's unfortunately still a vital point overlooked by Muslims: even if there were only ONE known amoral or immoral Muhammad, it's still one immoral aspect too many for a "prophet" who Muslims claim to be perfectly pious. One! just one negative account shows the claim to be false. So what are non Muslims supposed to think about Muhammad when the accounts don't show a pious perfect man with a slight character flaw. contrarily we are presented with the image of a warmongering, genocidal military general. One who took sex slaves, a child bride and even married his adopted son's wife. Conveniently "revealed" to be Allah's desire, never Muhammad's desire of course.

These same arguments can be applied to the Old Testament prophet’s as well so Christians and Jews don’t really have any leg to stand on when criticizing the moral character of Muhammad ﷺ. The only people who have a leg to stand on are Atheists/Agnostics and even their arguments are problematic since it can be argued that their moral paradigm isn’t solid or objective and their ideas of human rights/liberalism is a new concept and isn’t objective or universally accepted.

@@Noor_al_Furqan Yes my sister, if you take without referencing from someone else's writing or speech; of intellectual property, then it is known as plagiarism. Mohamed took the Sabian shahada _lā ʾilāha ʾillā -llāh_ as the first part of his Muslim shahada and added _muḥammadur rasūlu -llāh._ Here is a paragraph about what one Abd al-Rahman Ibn Zayd (d. 798 AD) wrote: “The Sābi’ūn say that their religion is a religion to itself and they live near Mosul (jazirat al-mawsil) and believe in only one God.” He also wrote that they have: “no cult though their main belief is ‘La ilaha il Allāh‘.” He also remarked that: “the Sābi’ūn did not believe in the Prophet Muhammad (in the same way as his followers did), yet the polytheists were known to say of the Prophet and his companions ‘these are the Sabians’ comparing them to them.”following the Din of Noah as a sect who read the Zaburakin to Christianity. They appear to be between Judaism and Magianism, but are in fact closer to Judaism. Sābi’ūn recognise the practice of the prophet Muhammad in going to the caves prior to his inspiration, as in accordance with the Sabi quest for Tawheed Hunafa’ and, in general, many similarities with the Sabians meant Muhammad and his companions were often considered to have been Sabians. Most specifically this was because of the Sabian shahada “La ilaha ila Allāh”. BTW “There is only one God” as you and other Muslims interpret the shahada IMHO is wrong. “God alone exists, all else do not” or “Brahman satyam, jagat mithya” is the correct interpretation!

Glad you were to give your royal decree. Now how about you step aside and let the people that actually live it speak it.

I think that Yasir Qadhi would really get along with other theocrats. ... too bad that the U.S. Constitution is founded on the separation of church & state. Preaching theocracy in the U.S. is a non-starter and is also deeply regressive. I feel so sorry for people caught up in this obfuscation. ... trying to spread this type of thinking is just a way to lead people into slavery. #Resist #FreedomOfThought #FreedomOfReligion #FreedomOfSpeech #Apostasy #Blasphemy leave the Dark Ages in the past.

@Abc Def Sure but we fought a big war in the 19th C. to end slavery and it is now distinctly against the law & against the U.S. Constitution, see the amendments. Are you seriously advocating for slavery in the 21st Century? Buyer beware! back off unless you would like to be enslaved.

and then putting supposed transcendental religion onto the level of pure politics, as at 1 hour, 21 minutes. That is just mind boggling. That Mohamed lead armies & conquered terrain puts militarism & political conquest at the heart of Islam. Then this preacher says, well, don't other cultures have wars? Yes, indeed they do, but those wars are not lead by Jesus or Buddha. That is the difference. So yes, be embarrassed that your religion preaches military conquest and do not equate it to other religions, which are founded in love & compassion, not militarism.

@Abc Def so what's your point? That Muhammad was evil but so was Moses? Is that what you're saying?
@tobangafeufeu

@Abc Def no I totally agree with you on that. I think we should judge all religious personalities and their actions by the same moral standards. Like when they lust over their adopted son's wive and marry her. Or when they murder individual men and women and even children for making fun of them. Or when they continuously raid neighbouring arab settlements and meccan trade caravans for seven whole years. Or when they start expansion wars with uninvolved nations outside the arabic peninsula

re: Jesus & birds at 1 hour & 17 minutes. This story is called "apocrypha". It is not a miracle that Mohamed might have heard such a story in the 7th C. It was a part of the Christian tradition that did not make it into the curated collection of texts that compose the authoritative bible. What obfuscation this man preaches. This is not a miracle, and indicates nothing extraordinary about Mohamed, it is just an alternative text.
