Yeh, and I would imagine that the NCR Rangers made a horrifying discovery that Ashur's guards were no longer men but turned to Abominations by the plague that infects The Pitt, I have this horrifying thought that Ashur's wife and the baby have been eaten by the guards turned trog, the Rangers had the right to execute these Abominations for there crime against nature

You know what, I think what I like so much about the NCR is that they are very flawed. And yet seem mostly composed of people that want to rebuild with no ulterior motives and are unsure of the future, their flaws are in things like corruption and mismanagement, not a shortage of positive karma leaning people willing to take on the entire wasteland to defend what they’ve rebuilt and at least try to help others rebuild even if it’s not perfect job for them either. If Bethesda were smart, they could make a whole series about what happens after Vegas. I don’t see the NCR expanding perpetually as much as stabilizing their border regions so much that other civilized groups would develop into proper nation states, probably trading heavily. Maybe they’d have a complex system of alliances, or NCR as hegemon high on victory and teetering on imperialism, or barely able to keep the peace between civilized but bickering neighbors while other legion level threats arise which need unity to beat. I’ve heard they think the reemergence of civilization with the NCR ends what they can do with fallout and that’s absurd.

The problem with the NCR however is that the Corruption and mismanagement means they are almost 'forced' to expand and conquer more in order to make up for their resource scarcity caused by their own lack of planning and management, we are told that the majority of California's Aquafers have been drained and that the NCR 'WILL' suffer a food crisis within 10 years by several more informed individuals in New Vegas. The NCR is essentially in a trap of 'Manifest Destiny' where they push or bully groups (Forced exile and relocation of Tribal groups and subjugation or non-tribal groups0 In order to claim local resources where if the resources are large enough (Like Hoover Damn) It becomes a Priority to send back as much as they can and if the local resources aren't as substantial then they move in settlers who end up pressuring or killing locals to claim the resources for the NCR Settlers needs (We are told examples of this by Chief Hanlan himself who remarks about how a groups of NCR settlers basically demanded Rangers to come and slaughter local tribal who were launching desperate attempts to reclaim the ONLY source of drinkable water in a frontier territory that the NCR had recently moved into) - This isnt to say that the NCR doesn't have 'Good Ideals' At least amongst some of their troops and commanders (Roughly 1/3 seem to be both Good AND Competent which you know...isnt great...). Ultimately the corruption underlaying their society has lead to an unending cycle of 'War Hawk' Politicians who get popular by promising the public to 'claim more for the Republic' and are more than willing to throw their Military weight around in order to claim 'Prosperity for the NCR' but do to the corruption the vast majority of the benefits end up going to the near monopoly level businesses in NCR territory (Like Crimson Caravan/ Gun Runners/) And ESPECIALLY the Brahman Barons meaning eventually the NCR WILL crash and at some point if they are lucky and the damage to their own lands isnt to severe then another leader Like Tandi will come in to help save the Republic from itself

@@JinglyJohn you're not wrong. I've seen gameplay of those games and they're definitely not for me, but I definitely think that the story seems a lot more in depth. From what I've seen though I love the bosses like the fev guy melted into the terminal and the big mutant enclave boss. I definitely want to play them for the lore and see how it turns out. Nothing beats the fallout lore in my opinion, not even bad graphics or game mechanics. (Corporate greed on the other hand definitely will)

I would of thought NCR were already overstretched at Hoover Dam. Already busy with Legion and BoS chapters here n there. NCR spending more resources , overstretching supply lines and using troops they need in orher areas, to get to Capital Wasteland, just to free some infected slaves in a highly polluted and toxic environment?? Doesn't seem really likely considering what NCR turned into in FNV does it.
