Just bought this baby. Can’t wait to use. If it stops raining in Wales. Great video.

That's a beautiful grill John. I'm looking forward to seeing some cooks on it. Take care.

How do you empty out the ashes from the burnt charcoal?
@kam7056 Жыл бұрын
Congratulations, Beautiful grill. I am interested in 300 AF, also but I gave a hard time to find out what the distance is between the charcoal tray and the grill grate. Even the PK customer service person did not know it. Can you tell me where I can get that information? I would really appreciate your help.

I know the frustration of not having more details provided. I have one of these, the measurement from lower grate to top grate is exactly 4 inches. If you were to use their charcoal tray, the measurement from tray to top grate is exactly 3.75 inches.

Can you show us how it looks once it’s removed from the stand? Wondering about its portability. Thanks! Looking forward to seeing some cooks on it!
@AtlantaGrillCompany2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand the question. Nothing changes about the appearance of the capsule when it's removed from the stand. If you wanted to take this grill with you somewhere, it's gonna be an easy task for sure. I would go as far as to say that this grill would be easier to transport than a Weber kettle.

@@AtlantaGrillCompany I see, thanks! I wonder if PK will come out with a tailgate stand for this one, similar to the one for the original PK.

The absents of a clean out port seems to be an oversight…what was there reason for omitting it?
@AtlantaGrillCompany2 жыл бұрын
I dunno... I have no part in the design of these grills. I find THIS model really easy to clean out though. I just pick it up and dump it and set it back down... doesn't get much easier than that. My 360 had a cleanout port and I used an old paint brush to brush the ash to that hole into a bucket hanging from the back. That took about 4x as long as dumping this one.. lol

How do you like this grill compared to your 360? I have a 360 and HATE the ash cleaning process.

If you were cooking for a party of say 20 to 25 people , Say doing hamburgers sausage and hotdogs is there enough cooking space for this grill?

Do the original pk acessories fit the new grill and are there any differences in grilling area/size or the capsule height or vertical size from the original?
@AtlantaGrillCompany2 жыл бұрын
I don't have one of the original PK grills to compare this with but I do know that there is a new model kick ash basket and grillgrates set for THIS grill so I assume that there is a difference in the size. The cover is also different. The little bit more extender rack still works on this grill. I do have that accessory here.

Is having the thermometer on the side annoying?
@AtlantaGrillCompany2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't bother me.. i haven't bought the thermometer for this grill yet... i just use my Fireboard probe inside the grill if I need it...

Hey John. So which one you like better. Weberkettle or pk??

The PK without any doubts.

@@AtlantaGrillCompany would you mind briefly summarizing why you prefer the PK over your Weber Kettle? I've never owned a charcoal grill and can't decide between the two. Leaning towards PK300 (new original) but kind of bummed that model isn't Made in the USA like their original model is. I'm 6'1" so think I'd appreciate the taller height. Thanks! Great Video.

love PK grills, but the left shelf is kinda useless to set anything on when you open the lid up.. great video!

but its' perfectly useful when you are doing direct grilling without the lid on the grill

I've looked at the PK's for years now. The major problem? Nothing whatsoever to deal with charcoal waste/ash. Looks as though you cannot even easily shovel it out with the uneven bottom to the vessel. Weber has a built in effective system. No sale here. Sorry
