The ideas at the end on how to handle the mental understanding of the plane and "compass" idea is brilliant in its simplicity and I will immediately be stealing that. 😁 Excellent video as always and im looking forward to the rest!

I really love the extra directions of inward, outward and so on! That makes planar travel work so much better! If you are able, take a look at the 3.5 edition book "The Manual of the Planes", sure it's a different edition, but the amount of nitty gritty detail it goes into about the planes might be of interest to you. I'm pretty sure the question of "is there a down?" In the plane of air is answered in that one, and iirc it's a janky but fun answer.

A star walks into a black hole but doesn't seen phased. The black hole then turns to the star and says, "I don't think you understand the gravity of this situation."

Same! The Hells and The Abyss have so much interesting lore, especially if you're going back pre-5e.

As a lore nerd, to get a series like this in addition to the already enjoyable content of the channel, makes me excited . Looking forward to the rest of the series and similar style videos in the future. Well done.

Great video! Loving the format! Looking forward to you maybe making a longer series of this, like Barovia and the Nine hells? Would be great to hear your thoughts on the different planes :D

@@Teraclon Absolutely! Once I'm through with the elemental planes, I think I'll do more like this: Ravenloft, The Nine Hells, and so on.

I'm running a game where each player is tied to a different elemental plane and has to travel there to connect it to the material plane. the only issue is that I know nothing about the lore of the elemental planes and their culture. this video could not have come at a better time for me. really looking forward to the others!!!

The one of the four planes, around the material plane? That's just taken from the Dungeon Master's Guide. You'll find it on page 57.

According to Mr. Rhexx’s research, up and down are relative in the plane of air. Gravity is based on your perception.

@@thedragonknight3600 I've seen a few people say that, yeah! Never been able to find a definite source for it, but I like the idea of your own perceptions being the defining factor.
