Quita, thanks for doing the job of scouring the whole women's college landscape and highlighting this young woman. I think the more main stream writers tend to cover the ones who already have the spotlight on them. I don't want to call them lazy - yeah, maybe I do . They can do a lot better.

It is nice to see Audi getting some attention and doing well. She and Caitlin have shown lots of class off the court also. She is very skillful. Not just that. She can turn both left and right. A forward turn will lead to a right hand jump shot. A backward turn will lead to left arm hook shoot layup. She can always press a shoulder against the defender's chest when making her turn. A very good W player in the making.

Quita, you’re absolutely excelling on your QLB channel! Your detailed insights into women’s college and pro basketball players, coaches, teams, and organizations are outstanding. I truly enjoy how you break down players by providing their height, size, position, class, and a comprehensive analysis of their playing style on both offense and defense, along with their character off the court. Your ability to include colorful, informative tidbits about their playing history, stats, and rankings by position, class, conference, and nationally adds incredible depth and makes your content truly engaging. As I mentioned in an earlier post, your rhythm and voice flow have improved significantly. Way to go! Your summary updates are sharp and on point. You do your homework. 👍 Keep up the great work, and please continue sharing updates on the lesser-known and under-the-radar players and teams that we should keep an eye on. Audi has a great touch but that is about it. We saw her play recently here at Carver Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City and as soon as Iowa's more assertive bigs (freshman Ava Heiden and Junior Hannah Stuelke) started fronting her and not letting Audi get the ball where she wanted it, Audi got shut down. She only got four points in the forth quarter, two bunnies in garbage time. Seriously: watch the last half of the third quarter and see how Ava Heiden (number five for Iowa) started to shut her DOWN. Ava is a FRESHMAN. I don't know why other teams don't watch that film and learn how to handle Audi.

I’ve watched several of Iowa State’s games and I particularly paid attention to Audi. She is Iowa State’s leading scorer because they feed it to her knowing that her size will help her score. But I don’t think she’s played against anyone who is bigger or has a longer reach than she has and I think she will not do as well against a “bigger Big”. Nonetheless she is a player to watch.

I am glad you're bringing up Audi. Post players seem to be lost in the shuffle when it comes to WCBB, with sports talk dominated by Juju, Paige, Hannah and Olivia. Even players like Lauren Betts are not often mentioned. (actually the whole UCLA team isn't mentioned often, for some reason?) I really like Audi. She's a great player, and seems to be a great teammate, and person. I think she will only continue to get better and better. If she's this good now, can you imagine her junior or senior year (if she decides to stay at Iowa State one last year). You mentioned that she needs to work on things. Yes, and one of those things has been a touchy one: her weight. She is amazingly agile considering that she is a big gal. Can you imagine Audi if she lost 10-15, maybe 20 pounds? Hard to imagine that. As of now, her teammates have to slow the offense down, and the strategy is to wait for her to get downcourt so that they can pass the ball to her after she gets position. This makes the game slower. I looked at stats and her teammates-save for Addy are averaging lower numbers, possibly due to this strategy. Compare this to UCLA's strategy, where options are: Betts running downcourt, with her guards, forwards, getting position and scoring before defenses are set, OR Kiki or Gabriela scoring on a drive, or a 3. Same thing for Kansas State with Ayoka Lee. Also Oklahoma with Reagan Beers. (another team kind of ignored) Lee, Beers might not be quick as Betts but they can get downcourt in a hurry, after a miss or evading a press. Scoring for both UCLA and Kansas State's team-the starters, as a whole is pretty balanced without Betts and Lee, respectively. I want Crooks to succeed, and do well. I like her style of play. I think losing just 10-15 pounds would make her quicker, be able to play more minutes and open up the team for more offensive schemes.

Audi struggles against athletes with length. Her shoulder width gives her artificial wingspan but is short for a center. By all accounts she is a great teammate and takes coaching well. The team offense really takes a hit when they are in feed Audi 1st because the feed pass halts perimeter movement to an open shot. Her numbers being high will continue to cost the team losses.

I have never heard of Audi (the player not the car! 😃), so thank you Q for bringing her and other ignored excellent players, into out attention. What strikes me about Audi is that she is so THICK. Not fat, thick. She has a body that I never would have associated with basket ball. I normally think of her body type to be in track and field, in Discus or shot put, which I bet she excelled at, when she was in high-school. She is very active under the basket, and unlike Angel Reese, she does finish her layups. 🙂
