The video was originally made for Jarus. I never intended to make my own videos let alone establish a separate channel . I continued on my own primarily because of the communities request and to prevent the monopolization of Jarus channel.

Thank you so much for this - reminds me when I spent years looking for procedure for a 777 touch and go flying pattern at an airfield after seeing a video of one doing it - very very rare, only the pros know this. Having proper procedures and numbers makes such a difference to make a sim feel more real.

If I might add if I remember correctly... Normally, in the fleet when not doing CQ, the case one pattern is all comm out. A couple of exceptions during Normal operations is obviously if the LSO feels the need to talk to you and the air boss telling people to spin it. So during CQ.....because the pattern is clobbered with guys doing their required Touch and Gos......comms are used to keep some order to things. During Normal Ops...nobody "Charile"s you out of the stack...it's all visual based off of what is happening with the current launch (aka when the landing area is about to be open for the recovery). Whole point of limiting comms is to keep the enemy from locating the Carrier...but when safety is a concern...aka Spins, LSO calls if needed, and even very hazy days when visibly is still Case 1....comms are used.

Being a (former) RNLAF pilot I really enjoy the carrier landings in DCS. Its the part if flying I never experienced. Where you describe flying the ball doesn't work for you, is that the fact actuallt keeping the ball centered let's you end high and bolter? thats what I experience. On speed AoA and on the ball and letting the ball drop to red gives me that 3rd wire landing. otherwise I miss them all. (no I really dont flare ;) )
@DD-sw1dd
@DD-sw1dd 6 жыл бұрын
I hope they manage to fix the handling issues this guy is talking about. There are obvious issues that even a laymen like me notices, like how the aircraft reacts on a bolter (horrible jerk back of AOA on bolters after lifting back off) but my hope is for Eagle Dynamics to get the physics and handling qualities down to where actual airmen like this that flew the F-18 feel somewhat at home when flying this sim as far as handling characteristics.

Yep, I primarily cover Star Citizen. I met Lex through our collaborations of fighting for an actual flight model in Star Citizen. You just have to have the will to learn.

20° of bank for 20° to the right after coming off the deck.
@abutreka45

The second 20° is basically 20 degrees of heading difference, to the right. So, I guess, you could say 20 (bank) for 20 (heading) to the right.
