Being a chubby woman comes with its own unique challenges. From society feeling the need to police everything that chubby girl eats or wears, to old men finding young chunky girls sexually appealing and not to mention the disrespect of being called "fat".

A topc that's always ignored is petite/thin ladies and the struggle of disrespect we face. The discrimination, especially from other women. Why are women so harsh & judge towards each other!? Can we talk about how difficult it is to gain weight this please!

I feel so validated, seeing someone who looks like me who has gone through similar struggles as I have and is so strong and can stand up for herself. Fat shaming is real, I’ve always struggled with my weight coz I have thin cousins and 1 of my sisters has always been thin, so I always thought I was big even when I wasn’t, now that I am I find myself reminiscing of when I was thinner, I hate being fat shamed, I hate the conversations of weightloss but now I don’t feel as offended as I used to

Definitely had a lot of "Ah Haa" moments,one of them being my biker shorts that my mother got me in different colors, she was trying to protect me, the baggy shorts that went up to my ankle almost as though they were not my size or even made for girls, all of that was tp protect me. Thinking back and listening to you ladies has me feeling validated, like how did we all go through the same experiences?? Thank you ladies.

And to think chubby girls, younger than us, of a different generation go through the same? Still!? Thanks for watching Zenani!

It’s sad that they still go through body shaming, I remember Thickleeyonce talking about the comments she gets online about her weight, this bothered me. For me she is a Body Positivity Ambassador for us, I look more like her body wise and weight wise so I felt represented by her and the fact that she still gets body shamed bothered me, but ke it is what it is, it’s like wherever you go you have to be ready with a comeback if someone comments on your weight.

I love how you are in touch with your emotions on this ladies. What a subject, I felt sad by the question that Ursula posed, "feeling grateful to be loved since it seldom happen for chunky girls". That is so touchy, but I don't think we are seen as less attractive but rather that those who adore us as chunky are rare to come across.

When I saw this title I knew I had to watch this cause im a size 30 and in my view chunky girls are winning like on social media, men seem to prefer bigger women, and in alotta stores like Woolies I dont have a size...It goes to show we all have our struggles and we need to judge people less and not assume their personal experience. Thank you for sharing ladies ❤

I think being referred to as "fat" is a new societal phenomenon. Going a little back (without revealing my age), I think people were not discriminated by size. The fashion industry is the image created by foreign mentalities for us, especially in the female section, to start looking at weight, comparing ourselves to those models. Isn't it wrong to be comparing ourselves to other people, other racial groups? Must people from the Eastern block are, in my terms, skinny. Do they want to get plus-sized? I think the "fat" mentality has been implanted in us by societal changes. My 2c worth
@theconversationcapital

You have a point, especially considering that fashion standards or trends are not defined by Africans mostly. On fashion and comparing though, we are not comparing ourselves, we are saying the market does not serve us fashion wise. The problem may lay in the fact that we do not have enough, affordable fashion made by Africans, for Africans because I am sure they would better serve our market - Bonga

I was also a size 34 in varsity and wish I still was. For me the disadvantage is that I’m into fashion which is more catering to size 32/34. I’m currently size 38 and as someone who’s into fashion I don’t know how to dress for my current size let alone feel beautiful in this size.

Parents 'allowing' their kids to be fat/overweight at a young age & letting it get worse as time goes on Is A Failure On Their Part. Then again, they don't preach nor do they practise living a healthy lifestyle. We only see this on social media or on TV But as an adult, the only person to blame for you not having good health is yourself. You choose what to eat, when and how much to eat. You choose when or how often you exercise, if you do. Be Accountable For The Choices You Make As An Adult! It's YOUR responsibility to maintain good health, mentally, emotionally & PHYSICALLY! It's your responsibility to educate yourself on the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle

This opened a lot of wounds especially being sexualised by older men it happens to this day.🤮🤮Being big is such a thing for other people who aren't big I wonder why ? I like my body and I always have but other people always seem to be the one with the problem.

I think chubbier women as much as I love them tend to assume that skinnier women ‘eat anything’ and that is not true. I would actually like to talk about the insane discipline fit and skinny women have but I know that’s not a comfortable conversation to have because we ‘have it easy.’

When someone calls you fat, they are saying they think you're overweight. They're not saying you're defined by your weight. I think there is space to teach others to be less judgemental. there should be space to tell people not to be overweight as medical advise. you are free to be whatever weight you want, but unfortunately the world will have consequences for your choice. you cannot the divorce the 2.

Honestly this episode is disappointing to watch. You guys were completely off the mark on this. You can't allow yourself to gain weight and when people are telling you(what already know) that you've wa kwata. I hope you've changed your ways. If you wanna lose weight, be aware of what you eat and do, simple. And lastly, there's no such thing as "I've been big my whole life", it's lie you tell yourself. Much love.
