What destroys me is when they sit on the couch together in the end, after she knew I wanted to leave. She kept threatening to kill herself. So I didn't leave, for a long time. This song is literally my story and it hurts. They sat on that couch because maybe he did wanna try to stay and fix things. I left her and I'm just trying to find my own way now....

Unfortunately many people do have this story, I went thru similar just diff. situation. Not threatening suicide but he couldn't give up the one thing that destroyed him, me & our relationship... it's a shame too many stay longer than they ideally should for fake love. Sad truth. When you've been & had a life with someone it's not easy to walk away even when you know you want to. I left so many times until I had no choice n moved home. This song hits too close to home.

This reminds me so much of my failed marriage. I loved her but she was using me and couldn't even see it no matter how bluntly I put it. I still love her to this day but know I can't be with her. Never let yourself get stuck with someone who manipulates you, whose family manipulates you into holding on to her. So many friends and family would skirt around how toxic she was and how I deserved better but I spent eight years of my life loving, providing and sacrificing for a woman who was incapable of believing that she could do any wrong. I tried so hard and believed in her for so long until I realized that I needed to believe in myself and live my life for me.

People seriously have to get over the fact that this album won't be as heavy as their other stuff. "I became a fan because of your heavy sound" well guess what, you can't tell an artist how to grow and what to put out there, it's not about what you want it's about what the artist wants and them having the courage to share the hard work that they've put into their creations. If you as "fan" can't understand the artist that you claim to love so much than maybe you have to refresh your memory on what being a "fan" really means. It's okay to not personally enjoy something as much as the previous work but there's no need to bash it. Their new sound is so great and really does display how far they have come as artists. I haven't been this pumped for for an album in a very long time and through every single that they've released, not to mention the incredibly produced and directed music videos that came along with each one. It's just some great work that you don't see as often these days. Can't wait to buy this album on day one!

Landon tewers growth as an artist and his ability just amazes me. I still listen to their old material and happiness in self destruction tore me down and lifted me up. Really enjoying the direction the band has taken. I'm not too into this new thing their doing but I cannot deny how much of a soulful, creative and unrelenting artist Landon is both vocally and lyrically. I mean the guy knows how to project and take care of his cords. All I can say is hats off to the plot in you for continuing to grow and develop and explore many different sounds and evolve!

my kink is watching metalheads get butthurt over a band progressing into a new, better sound like "where are the screams?" everythings recycled in that genre now, expand your musical tastes and stop complaining. Landon is as dynamic of an artist as it gets.
@unbounder6 жыл бұрын
“new, better sound” lol, don’t get ahead of yourself. i appreciate the band taking a different approach and changing their sound up but i don’t think it’s necessary to say one is better than the other. this sound isn’t comparable to could you watch your children burn, just like its not comparable to happiness in self destruction. landon tewers is an incredible vocalist but you said it yourself, he’s dynamic. no reason to compare their old sounds to now at all, take them for the new evolution they are instead

funny thing is, his solo EPs Ai640 and the sequel are heavy as fuck so if people need their fix they can listen to a song like Detest. Don't get me wrong, I personally miss older Plot in You but this is still experimental and interesting rather than the generic sellout of BMTH or Parkway Drive.

I am that girl. My boyfriend dumped me several weeks ago. So i listen to sad music, love songs, brak up songs, and I like The Plot In Your so I've been listening several songs, like better vibes, trying to find words in songs to define my pain. I'm discovering this track right now. I have the feeling those are the words my ex couldn't say to me, probably because he was afraid to hurt me. He dumbed me because I got issues, and instead of fixing it, cuz well it's hard, I put my anger and my pain on other's shoulders. When I watched this clip i was first so hurt, because I really feel like this song is everything he's never told. He is so nice that he couldn't say any of those staff because he would know how i would feel. And after that, I felt angry again. I thought "well you're just a coward, nobody forces you to stay, are you blaming her for having insecurities?" and, thinking this words, I realized this was exactly the reason why I've been dumped. If anyone see this; I'm sorry. I hope one day I'll be someone good. And the end of the clip made me realize how unhappy he would be if he would stay with me. I love him so much, I prefer him to be happy without me that knowing he's feeling all those staff when we're hugging in front of the TV.
