IMPORTANT CORRECTION: the FUJIFILM Instax does not use polaroid photos--it uses Fujifilm Instax film (duh), which is MUCH cheaper. The Instax price per photo is as low as $0.70! It's the cost winner! (Though I still know my preference.)

I believe the price depends on the bundle you buy! Thats why a lot of people say the 60 or 100 pack of instax film is cheapest! :)

@@fletcheradams6568 Definitely! 70 cents/photo was the cheapest bundle I saw on Amazon, but a thrifty individual could probably find cheaper.

@@gimmickfilms it costs me $0.009 per frame to shoot 110 film. If you buy 16mm film by the 100-200ft and bulk load it’s so cheap it makes no sense not to shoot 110 everyday. I prefer Kodak vision3 500t with ecn2 developer. Loading and developing your own 110 is super easy and a lot of fun, you should get into it

This is the camera of my childhood! I loved this thing! Took so many vacation photos and posed my little brother as Luke Skywalker after seeing Star Wars in the theater. Thank you for bringing back memories! The flash cubes were a luxury that we only used for birthdays and Christmas morning shots. If you can find them, flash bars were a slight upgrade.

Well done on getting your Instamatic back to life! You may have worked this out already, but when you are using an expired film, there is a rule of thumb. You need to add an extra stop of light for every decade of expiry. So your ISO100 from the 1980's would be ISO12 :-)

When removing the flash bulb from the holder, be careful because the unused flash bulb can ignight and cause a burn. You can also ask your film developer to process the film longer if it is old . Look for an electronic flash adapter if you want to take more night pictures or get one with a built in flash like minolta.

Excellent video! I love the bits of nostalgic videos inserted here and there. I have the Pocket Instamatic 20 camera as well. I purchased it new in 1974 and still have it. First time I heard a flash cube called an incendiary device haha! Interesting fact: the close proximity of the flash to the lens on these types of cameras caused an effect called red-eye. The flash reflected off the peoples retinas in their eyes causing their pupils to appear red in the flash photos. This was such a problem that Kodak created an extender that was sent to all registered camera owners for free. It was a 6 inch device that was inserted between the camera and the Magicube that reduced the red-eye effect. So glad you discovered Instamatic 110 cameras and film! It truly offers a unique look you can’t get with digital.

You can buy n=many 110 cameras with built in flash that are only a bit longer than the Kodak original ... I even have a few Kodak models with built in flash ... also c some with telephoto lenses ... but by far if you want to spend your money, you can get a Pentax 110 Auto ... a miniature SLR with changeable lenses and also has the option for an electronic flash!!! The 110 format had a lot of different cameras with all levels of quality!!!

one option if you want to save money on film is to buy 120 film and cut it down to 16mm size so you can respool it into a 110 cartridge. that way you can get 4 24 exposure rolls for the price of a single 120 roll! Minolta and canon also made some really high quality 110 cameras with glass lenses that give you really good photos.

What bad results camera, worth the price, yes. Magic Cube was genius idea. In the seventies when you could afford a 135 it was amazingly good. Of course I understand why it's fun for young. For a lot of boomers, we don't want to go back in time. I keep nicely designed products in sight but never use it.
