I used to make some like this but it was made from a "modified" inc pencil. You basicly screwed of afew parts off and attached a balloon and you shot the inc tube with the metal pencil tip ontop and it had alot of power. My friend accidentaly penetraded my hand while shooting one!

We used to make it from a cutted finger from a rubber glove. A thick rubber glove! It's tough rubber. And then some peas. Believe me, we had some blue bruses! LOL. It was just a finger from a glove and a plastic tube from electrical tubing. Glorious!!! Thnx mate. Like the upload. Made me think back! Thumbs up!!!

They used to be called glove guns back in my day. Used a piece of pipe and a finger from a rubber glove. Rubber used to break a lot though. I once made one from a big piece of pvc pipe and a swimming cap. Was a two man operation, one to hold it together and one to draw.

The pocket shot is a really innovative design, and it can compete with many slingshots easily, but as for shooting arrows, I still think they might need some more improvements with the rubber, maybe a stronger rubber, which will make you use more power to draw back, but it will accelerate the arrow really fast. However, pocket shot is a great fun toy to play with!
@MrAstrojensen8 жыл бұрын
We made such pocket shooters in school, many years ago, using the thumb from a rubber glove and a small PVC tube. They were a lot of fun, but we never used them in school wars, as they were frankly a little too dangerous for that. They are easily powerful enough to take an eye out or crack eyeglasses. For classroom wars, we used blowpipes made from plastic pens, shooting small plastic decoration pearls... Man, we did get into a lot of trouble with the teachers for that, but it sure was fun.

This pocket shot has so much more potential then demonstrated in this video. It actually shoots a lot harder! I have one and it's good to hunt with. When it comes to arrows it launches them around 150 fps. When it comes to steel ammo it shoots around 350 fps. Great product really.
@GabrielMartinez-wh2xm8 жыл бұрын
Also, there is a reference point to aim with. It is not limited to instinctive shooting. You just need to hold the slingshot correctly and this is with the thumb knuckle pointing straight up and not sidewise or diagonal like demonstrated here.

You could actually combine several pocketshots into a gatling gun if you added a trigger mechanism to the front cap of each one to hold a bolt in place until the trigger is released by a rotating lever(it would need to be strong enough, of course), similar to the slingshot versions that you already made in the past. There are also balloons of varying scales so it's curious to ponder how far a larger balloon can stretch when compared to the normal size.

We used to make something like these as kids. The barrel was longer PVC pipe and the rubber was usually a finger from rubber gloves as the rubber was much thicker and robust than one from the balloons. They were usually used to shoot some berries from the aronia bushes. Getting shot really hurt but the ammo was fairly soft so nothing serious ever happened. The berries left a semi permanent stain on skin and clothes for the fun of the parents.

In Chile we call those kind of slingshot "Poroteras" which can roughly translate as "bean shooter", and kids made them all the time out of old plastic bottles and balloon plastic, we just to used them to shoot each other with dry beans and green cherries.
