The Anotida Chikumbu - BOOK SERIES is one of the biggest and longest running interdisciplinary live television podcast show in the academia. The series consists of oral histories, interviews, documentary films, public lectures, roundtable and panel discussions. While the primary focus of the program is African studies, the series also covers subjects on World history. Over 500 established academics, technocrats, government leaders and heads of states have been featured on the program and the channel’s content has attracted over 1 million views and thousands of comments from across all seven continents of the world. The interviews are characterized by a focus on the author, rather than the host, and a structured format allowing the author to contribute meaningfully to the discussion.
Some episodes of the series have been published in partnership with the New Books Network, the University of Illinois Press, the University Press of Kentucky, the University of Pennsylvania’s Population Studies Center, the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, The National WWII Museum’s Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy (New Orleans), the Southern African Political Economy Series (SAPES) Trust, and the University of Warwick.
