The PoE switch vs PoE Injector? what is the difference?

Both PoE switch and PoE injector can supply the power to a PoE compatible PoE devices including IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones. There is a switching function integrated into the PoE switch. You need multiple PoE ports to work with several IP devices. The PoE switch is a handy tool. The PoE switch can connect multiple IP devices and provide data exchange. The PoE injector can convert non-PoE ports from the router or switch to PoE capable. You only need to attach the PoE injector to one of these ports, you can PoE output from non-PoE equipment. There is no need to replace the existed equipment before you can upgrade some of the ports to supply PoE.

Nice explanation about the differences between Injector with Switch. Can we add 2 POE switches with 1 NVR? I have NVR (16 port) and want to install 3 more IP camera's. So, i want to add another POE switch to add 3 IP camera's. Can i do it?

Yes, but you need to check whether your PoE NVR can take in additional IP cameras or not. Some PoE NVR has limited resource to handle extra ip cameras.

I think you don’t need PoE injector if you have PoE switch, and yes you can hook up the ip cameras to PoE switch to save some network ports on your router.

Yes, you can. The PoE switch will detect the edge device before it release the PoE power. If non-PoE device is hooked up to PoE port, the PoE switch will provide only data exchange. There is no different between LAN port and the PoE port in this case.

Does it matter if your PoE injector is 12v or 24v or 48v if you are only going to power one Reolink camera like the one in this video?

The voltage of the PoE injector does matter when it comes to powering devices like Reolink cameras, or any PoE-enabled devices for that matter. Each PoE-powered device (PD) has specific power requirements, including a required voltage and wattage. Using a PoE injector with the incorrect voltage can result in the device not working properly, or it could potentially damage the device. Reolink cameras, depending on the model, typically require PoE that conforms to the IEEE 802.3af or IEEE 802.3at standards. These standards usually provide power at 48V (44-57V range), and devices designed for these standards are built to operate within this voltage range.

I want to connect a POE camera in a garage to a router that connects to another router in the house. I have a pie injector but how do I find it on the NVR?

The IP cameras works standalone. There is IP address with the camera. So you should be able to see the camera's IP address by using the PC computer or the NVR. If the NVR doesn't detect the camera, you might bring the camera to the same router which is working with the NVR, and try to make the connection. If the camera show offline after your relocate the camera to the house, then there is so problem with the routers setting. The network is not work. You can test the another router in the house by using the mobile phone or laptop.

Off topic question: If you connect the wifi router to the switch, and you connect the CCTV cam lan cable to a wifi extender, or a ethernet to wifi bridge, connect the wifi router to the wifi extender, and arrange for a separate power supply for the camera, then will the CCTV camera wirelessly transmit data through wifi, which I can browse through a laptop connected to the switch?

Technically, it works, but you need to consider the bandwidth. It sounds like you have multiple cameras that go through the WiFi connectivity before it reach your PC computer or NVR. If you just want to watch it occasionally, it should be good, but if you want to have 24/7 recording, you need to make sure there is stable wireless link between the cameras and the PC computer.
