"The Poet" is an essay by U.S. writer Ralph Waldo Emerson, written between 1841 and 1843 and published in his Essays: Second Series in 1844. It is not about "men of poetical talents, or of industry and skill in meter, but of the true poet."
In the essay, Emerson expresses the need for the United States to have its own new and unique poet to write about the new country's virtues and vices:

15:00 Emerson should have read "The Two Ways" By Amir Abd Al-Qadir Al Jazairi (long name I know). He says rather that the "masters" are those who got stuck on one of the levels of clouds by timourousness. But they still carried you to a higher cloud.. He says each level is a successive trail on the way to Heaven, and by his bravery or cowardice a man may turn back at one of the unveilings, but that doesnt mean the level he brought you to isnt real, just that its time to out-grow your own master and go alone, or find another. But trust in oneself is taking God as the master, this is the second way, by which only certain people can skip all the clouds and meet God himself directly.

I really connected to Emersons position on this matter. As a spiritual seeker we are constantly in need of "a brother to hold us close to a fact till we make it our own". I suggest when we attain spiritual principals we do become more but eventually end up back with our feet on the ground wanting more, hungry yet again, looking for that brother. Us seekers are notorious for this behavior. We still retain the attainment and yet we are still as human as we once were it seems.

@@legionjames2.091 Wow bro you really need to read Abd Al-Qadir! He acknowledges this 're-grounding' you're talking about, but he says there's more than that. There is a second approach which doesnt rely on successive unveilings of spiritual truth, he says the path you're talking about is dangerous and can make you lose faith. 'Each unveiling is a succisive trail, will the traveller allow himself to be stopped at this junction or not? Some are stopped at the firs unveiling, some at the second and so on until the last. If he is not resolute and takes things into account which do not lead to the goal, he is rejected from this degree and sent back to the one he originated from, losing at the same time this world and the Next.' Do you think that sounds like what you're describing? To me it does

@@legionjames2.091 The thing is he speaks of a second way, the way of Jesus, the prophets and great men, the 'ravishment' of God, by or against their will.. They have a direct and total omniscience when God wills it and its impossible for them to fail to be enlightened since they live in enlightenment itself, this is what Nietzsche meant by an unbridled Will, and that the Will is the creator, and what emerson means when he says 'those who speak from within the veil, do not emerge with one virtue aquired at a time, but walk in the region of ALL the virtues'
