One of the most romantic songs ever 🖤 Sid and Nancy forever 💖

IKR? It makes you feel like you’re in a 2000s rom-com, even though the movie _Sid and Nancy_ is *far* from a rom-com.

I suggest you watch unbiased documentaries about them. You may take off your rose colored glasses which I had to do, sadly. The man literally abused animals.

Would you want _NANCY_ to haunt you.?!
@EddieC3336 Жыл бұрын
@richiehoyt8487 I wouldn't be nervous about getting haunted by Nancy, she's the poor girl that got gutted at the Chelsea Hotel in 78, by Sid. So sure send Nancy over.
@richiehoyt8487 Жыл бұрын
@@EddieC3336 You don't want to take my comment too seriously, I was just joking based on her reputation for being a little... _'wearing'..._ That said, she wouldn't be the first rock star 'wag' who couldn't catch a break from band, or fan, alike; and, I mean, it's not as if I knew the girl! It seems like she _did_ have a real knack for rubbing people the wrong way, and comes a point where you have to say, maybe her reputation can't _all_ be put down some misogynistic 'patriarchy', but I've seen her on footage from an NYC cable access show where herself & Sid, and Stiv Bators and his girlfriend are being interviewed, and out of everyone involved in the whole sorry display, presenters and members of the public phoning in included, she seemed the most intelligent and articulate of the lot - but that wouldn't have been saying much! As to Sid having gutted her like a fish, call me naïve, but I'm one of those who holds to the idea that _Sid_ was the one 'done up like a kipper' (and not just 'cos it suits my romantic narrative!) Sid was a nasty little toerag, if we can be honest here, who killed a cat for 'lols' as we would say nowadays and blinded a girl (accidentally) but I reckon cats were about his measure - I don't think he had it in him to break into the majors and start wasting human beings. Fwiw, himself & Nance _were_ besotted with each other I think, if that means anything, but on the night in question people had been in and out of their room like it was Penn Station, Nancy had been going on about some 'big deal' and flashing cash; Sid was dead to the world on Tuinol and, simplest thing in the World, somebody just let themselves in to help themselves to the Moolah, Nancy woke up and interrupted the thief, most probably making _a lot_ of noise about it, Sid's new knife was just lying there, and there you have it. And if ever there was someone whose neck was pre~measured for the noose, it was Sid..! There was some guy, 'English Michael', sleazing around the hotel, who was supposedly heard to have been bragging about the crime, and even the NYPD homicide detective leading the investigation has indicated that there were other 'people of interest' in the case who he wanted to interview, but when Sid, who 'everyone' knew had 'dunnit', inevitably left the (metephorical) building, the whole thing became moot. 'Case Closed'. There's actually a really good documentary about it online, I'll leave it to you to find it 'cos I can't remember the name, but I suspect you won't have a hard job to find it. Possibly "Sid Vicious' last 24 Hours", or something of that nature. But then, I also believe Oswald caught a bum rap. Guess they don't call me 'The Public Defender' for nothing!
@EddieC3336 Жыл бұрын
@richiehoyt8487 Nice post, very articulate, yes he was a cat killer, then sang about it in MyWay, I have seen that Sid Vicious the last 24, where his mother a registered junkie in the UK gave him the shot that killed him, as far as the murder goes they had enough evidence to arrest him, I was alive and in my 20s for this so my recollection is very good, I was also alive for JFK, LHO did not fire a single shot, agreed.

@@EddieC3336 I was so shocked to hear about the animal abuse. It's a wrap for me. Not people are complicated and he had good sides. No. That's sociopathic shit and he's no one to be admired. Especially when he couldn't even play an instrument lol.

Imagine, picked up by a stunningly beautiful Victoria Abril look-alike, nearly twenty years your senior, a language whizz, energetic, super-intelligent and who loves you for nearly twenty-five years of happiness and love. Who takes me around the world and even makes plans for when she's gone... "Ach, must be Italian!" said a Dunfermline ned who passed her. No, laddie, a Geordie, born and bred. Who was able to bring up two fine sons. Sheila Brydon, you may have been the result of "a Naughty Roman Soldier", but since you died in my arms, I am truly haunted by your love.
