Note, NO auto tune vocals, note, NO earpieces. Note, NO lip sync. Vocals EXACTLY as on the record release. A TRUE live performance, with real quality
@jeframp38053 жыл бұрын
they are wearing in ears. At least two of them are from what I can see. It just means they can hear themselves and not get deafened by the crowd. Some artists don't need them and thats impressive but its not a cheat to wear them
@user-hh1kd5ty3x2 жыл бұрын
@@jeframp3805 correct! In ear monitors are just to hear yourself and other instruments you prefer, it's a very personal mix according to the preference of the performer. It doesn't affect the output hehe

Real Singers! 🙌🏽
@matthewmeno5279 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! If you ask me, I think autotune sucks! I think if you wanna Autotune you should sing a song about a robot for a movie or cartoon! The only person that ever really sounded good in Autotuning was Cher!
@phil4977 Жыл бұрын
See the wedges on the stage in front of the ladies? They are speakers so the singers can hear themselves. Earpieces do the same thing with one additional advantage-they can mute out a lot of the background noise so the singers can concentrate on their own vocals. It allows singers to sing better. With all the background noise and distortion trying to sing on stage they would end up just shouting and not singing. It’s not a form of cheating.

I agree Aaron. They are a great orchestra and the arrangement is particularly outstanding. The girls are fabulous as well however I listened along with fond memories of June.

I’ll never get tired listening to this song. I remember my sister and I used to dance together to this song in 1986, I was a child then and she was 26. Definitely one of the best female groups ever!

I’ve always thought that The Pointer Sisters performances at MaxProms were their best! Their voices are incredible and the songs really sound amazing with the full orchestra and the choir of backing vocalists. The Pointer Sisters are without a doubt one of the best live performers, they all sing so beautifully and all sound so unique

Issa Pointer (the one in the purple) replaced her aunt June who became ill in 2004 and retired from the group before passing away two years later in 2006 from cancer. Issa's mother is Ruth and her father was Temptations member Dennis Edwards. So music was definitely in her blood and she has the vocals to back it up......

Oh heck yeah, one of my favorite from back in the day. I completely forgot about this song till it randomly popped in my head. I cranked it up real loud and got so excited I started to jump....Note to self I was a early teen back then and jumping was easy, now it was not a good decision, went up came down awkward falling into the table next to the chair got up and stumbled almost crushing the TV and stand and instead went into the wall. Looked like a ghost was kicking my butt. Anyways what a brilliant and refreshing performance and incredible band maintaining a pop sound to it and not to classical, always a energetic song gotta love The Pointer Sisters..P.S. the PS will always jump..

The drummer is "Stacy Henry Jr." Their musical director. His father was legendary band leader "Stacy Henry "that backed Dozens of National Acts in shows in the 60's & 70's with his band "Stacy Henry and the Majestics." Google them to see their numerous connections with Motown's groups and other labeled artist. And the flow of top level musicians from his band to big Acts, as they backed groups and singers like the Supremes, Jackie Wilson and the like during the 60's and 70's. The web page created by Stacy Henry Jr. to honor his father and other band members he was close up under learning the ropes of the bussiness. And who in addition to his being with the Pointers was formally with Motown's Gladys Knight.

Wow, the PS are older, don't jump or sing as high, slower, and thicker since this song came out in 84, yet the energy of this performance is still out of this world

excuse yourself.. I fit in with the older crowd.. and I can still jump as good as I did in the 80s and move just as good.. so watch your age comments

most of the best 80s artists are in their late 70s or early 80s by now and they move better than these new wannabe punk artists of today.. I am in my mid 40s and I can still move as good as I did when I was 16
