Wow. Surprisingly sophisticated, unclichéd, and full-bodied music. I suppose you can substantially credit William Ross to providing textured orchestrations - we know that John Williams readily trusts him on occasion.

by far one of the best scenes in the entire movie! not cliched, an awesome score, and it has really good animation for it's time

Yep. The exact same notes: Bb, F, C, G, a fifth up and the same a whole step higher. That deson't make it a ripoff of course.

The fact that someone did this by listening to it over and over again and blasting out their ears to get every note for every part right is... I can't explain how amazed and happy I am. Thank you, and your [probably] half-dead eardrums. Could you do this with my new favorite boss theme, Salty Scares from Bendy and the dark revival? I really want to play it and I have tried myself to find something but I can't get it. I hope you, or someone else, can

It's interesting to see the influence from back to the future in this film not only in the references on screen but in the music. The use of the lydian mode and modulations a minor third above during action scenes is found in both films which makes sense as they have the same director. The music in this scene in particular reminds me of the finale train scene from back to the future 3 due to its syncopation with the brass.

Oh my god... It's been however many years and I'm only now realizing the main tension of this scene is the fact that if they miss the track, they will slam into stone and all of them will die in a ball of fire. On TOP of if they dont get there fast enough they will sink and everyone will drown.... This is a pretty fucked up scene, no wonder its remembered. I've yet to see a movie that makes physics subservient to art. No, that mountain does not physically work and that train would slip easily going that fast. No, those children in the later half of the train would be either dead or soaking wet and the latches would have come off No, ice doesnt work that way No, the train would not be able to climb up that hill out of the water No, the trian would not be dry for the engines function because we can see the straight clearly submerged fro a split second BUT WE DONT CARE BECAUSE ITS COOL AND LOOKS AWESOME. This is tension and resolution done incomprehensibly well. I'm sure someone can deconstruct why this scene and movie works, but to me it holds the same meaning as a sunset or sunrise. The MUSIC OH MY GOD. So much of it works, my thoughts are blah
