Is it just me . The guys seem to have lost all tone and rhythm. What a mess . I think Tommy was embarrassed more than anything. I love the cats too but COME ON .... PEACE ✌️.

This interview was filmed at Granada tv Liverpool in 1981, as part of the celebrations to honour Tommy Steele's 25 years in show business. Great fun, and great to see Tommy's reaction to the Polecats numbers.

Tommy Steele smiles, the guys have performed a fantastic song he has sung in the past. Performance of The Polecats looks better to me.

Didn't they also play 'Rock with the Caveman' on that show?

+Herbert Hi, hope you find it, Tommy's ecstatic afterwards shouting "Bloody marvellous" !! However you may struggle to find it, it was on here for years but the link I had now shows its been pulled for contractual reasons = crap, why on earth after such a long time !!??

RockinRedRover Thank you, mate. Same old story: the best things in life are free - but there's always some shyster ready to put a price on it.

+Herbert Only too true !. I particularly like the authentic olde Steelmen look with the music-note jumpers.

Bloody marvelous too. I wish they'd gone towards Marty Robbins' version rather than Guy Mitchell's (viz. the descending notes on "cry-y-y-y over you", rather than Marty's yodel). Also, god I hope somebody finds that "Rock With the Caveman" clip 😣
