I don't give a lot of likes, but when I do I like Constantine. Sometimes at school in BC we had Con or Conny but this man is the real deal. What a lovely name! Please continue to contribute.

all i ever wanted was to be able to play the bass to some measure of proficiency. to be able to watch someone who can do it with so much ease as if it was an extension of their body makes me happy.

Em 1980 essa música fez enorme sucesso nas rádios brasileiras,curti e curto justamente pelos acordes do baixo,aliás tantas outras do The Police!

Out of the 20+ covers I have watched tonight , you are the only one to capture the nuances Sting puts into this song. Now I need to retrain my muscle memory as I have been missing those nuances! Good job my friend!

Hi Ellie. I sent you a message but I don't think you received it so I'm posting it here, please let me know if you recieve the message. Hi Ellie I wanted to send you message regarding your 4 string and the possibility of getting a 5 string and my experiences. For about 16 years I only played a 4 string bass. Then I decided I wanted a 6 string bass. Talking about confusion between my hands and my head. Long story short, it took several months of serious playing to be able to move around my 6 string. One thing I was happy with that my hands are pretty big so there really is not a neck that is too large. The issue was where I place my right hand when I'm not playing. I use my thumb to rest on my bottom B string, that on the 5 or 6 string bass. So when I switch back to the 4 string, my thumb actually is resting on the E string. So I tried to trick my head in thinking the Pickup is my low B string and continue playing on as usual. (I hope I explained that right.) The reason I brought up the story is you can easily change now from a 4 string to a 5 had continue to grow in your playing. If there is a music store in your area, I would try the different neck widths between the 5 string basses. Just to see what your left hand feels more comfortable with. If you have time to check out my video titled Thank you Part 1 (Thank You Part 1) I talk about my basses. I'm looking to purchase this bass I hope in the near future. www.rondomusic.com/ursa2cmn53ts.html If the quality is anything like my new SX bass, I'm sure I will love this bass. $165 is hard to beat. I have been speaking with Carvin in producing my 5 String bass. Here is a link to the picture of the bass. bit.ly/Ox6B3v There was a picture posted on Facebook and I fell in love with it right away. The quote was around $1,350. That is a lot of money right now. I will see in the next few weeks how I feel. They need 20% to begin construction. I can pay on it every month so it would be paid for in 4 payments or so. I will need to talk to my wife about it. She is so supportive of my playing but this is not a $169 SX bass. I rambled on long enough. You raised a great question on where do you post messages so no one else reads them. The KZbin message area is great. The only problem for me is I can a ton of messages that I can't check them everyday. I should say screen everyday You can always email me at: Constantine.isslamow@gmail.com where the message will come to my phone and I can reply there. I can't reply to KZbin via phone yet. Not allowed. Hopefully KZbin fixes this soon. talk care for now. My biggest fan :D Constantine

the picture of you custom bass bring up one more question im sorry..it has the maple neck...ive read oth ways...but seems most think maple neck is etter of the two..rosewood it seems isnt ideal? your custome bass neck is maple...so does that mean you suggest a maple neck?...that sx looks really nice for only 165? so you think I should get that one for the excursion into 5 string land?
@ConstantineIsslamow10 жыл бұрын
ellie chen I don't really know or understand the differance between different wood necks. I just pick the bass up and play. My only bass, My Steingerber has a graphic neck, that feels totally different in my hands and I love the feel of it. I really like my SX bass. I shared the link because I can't believe the quality of the bass for the price. I would strongly think about getting a 5 string SX, look for a jazz neck than a precision, it's thiner. Money is still money and I would hate for you to spend a lot of money only to find out that a 5 string is not in your best interest. I enjoy receiving bass questions but I find it hard to reply without the Dad in me coming out. Most times, less is more. So does the amount we spend on a bass. There are always better electronics, wood, hardward etc. All I'm saying is try not to spend too much until you really know what your after. Looking out for my Number 1 fan :D

well I think you for the help I tend to agree on most things people go over oard on tings like that...I cant see how the differende in wood on the fret oard wodl matter..the fret stops the vibration and the wood doewsnt even pla a part in it..id think...but thank you so much onstatine..youre the best!!! ellie
@MDonovan9 жыл бұрын
+ellie chen different wood has different densities. this affects the vibration of the neck and the guitar. Maple and Ebony is a little brighter than a Rosewood Neck. So obviously the body of the guitar has similar characteristics. Can't say better or worse, but brighter or warmer you can hear ... until you plug in, then the pickups really define the sound

You are totally awesome I'm pretty much self taught, I am learning from you, for example your fingerings, to keep the fingers from flying is a challenge I work at, I want to be perfect, I love the bass I'm glad l discovered it. Thank you for your help. I found my bass in the trash last September nothing was wrong with it at all I took that as an opportunity to learn how play, I had it properly set up, I'm having a blast, Homer says,its so easy well that's a cartoon that drinks a lot of beers practice helps.

Henry Freeman .what kind of bass did you find?
@henryfreeman77486 жыл бұрын
What I found was a 4string rouge, few battle scars all the strings it wasn't warped or anything. I had it set up and I still play it I'm dreaming about a musicman or a nice geddy lee one day if ever I can afford one however my rouge was a blessing I will always be grateful for.

Nice job! I have watched/listened to you play many songs on KZbin. You always are so solid and dependable. I hadn’t realized that I had never subscribed. Well I just did! One question - in the chorus, are you paying a B-flat? It seems like you are - and it feels/sounds correct. But in the key of C are their B-flats? Just trying to recall from music theory in High School from years ago. Thank again for all of your spot on playing!
@ConstantineIsslamow4 жыл бұрын
In the Chorus, Sting does play B-Flat. I'm not sure if they change to Fb in the chorus or the entire song is in that key, I normally get this wrong. If I wrote the score out right now, it would be in Fb Major. Cheers and thanks for the support
