In fountains and stock tanks putting in some barley straw in mesh bundles helps keep the water clearer and the amount of algae down. It’s cheap and easy and really works but it must be barley straw. Although the pool is looking fantastic, during very hot , sunny times when algae growth is highest, they might suspend a mesh bale or two under the floating platforms. I don’t know why but it really works to keep the water naturally clear.
@cagarden88082 жыл бұрын
The aerial view shows a striking difference between the 2 pools! The organic pool water is very clear. Planted aquariums use the same concept to reduce water changes since the plants naturally filter the water from the fish waste. Ramshorn snails also reduce the amount of algae and decaying matter in planted tanks. It’s a fantastic natural method to maintain a healthy ecosystem for fish, plants and clean water! 🌱🐠💦

Love the progress on your pool project at Mapperton. My one concern is to do with a single celled amobea currently found in warm water bodies like lakes and pools .when it is swollowed while swimming .it has penetrated the brain and been fatal to those who have indested it. Due to the hot weather in England right now I think the conditions in the pool may not be safe for swimming. Check out the cases that have happened in the Southern U.S. Maybe a trip to the Dorset Coast may be still a cooling off option . Have the water tested for this and wait for cooler weather. Stay safe and thank you always for the content

Did someone remove my comment about the floating insulation possibly leaching chemicals into the pool? It was just a concern of mine. What is the floating insulation made of? I mean if you are swimming in this pool. Being organically minded the designer has addressed this but you never really did say that the insulation wouldn't break down and would be non toxic.

I’d be listening to him about amoebas and protozoas… Naegleria fowleri - is known as the "brain-eating amoeba". It is microscopic and can get into the body through water, typically the nose when swimming in freshwater lakes or rivers. Children in Australia and the US thought to have contracted it through playing in tap water. Naegleria fowleri thrives in warm water so is not typically found in the UK but with the warming temperatures it may become more prevalent.

@beautifully_wonderfullymade2 жыл бұрын
Holes the size of the pot are cut through the insulation, mesh is put into the holes and the pots are place in. The roots penetrate through the mesh and are directly in contact with the water. It's explained in Part 1. This video is Part 2.

@@donnabaardsen5372 Nope. I know, knew what they are doing but a real pool would be good for the kids they have. Even the famous Biltmore Home and Gardens had a real pool back in the late fifties. It has since been turned into grass. Leveled it with the ground, made it grass. There might be a new one now about, because some caretakers house has been erected and attached to original. Would make sense to do a real pool. I saw her video swimming the nasty one under ground. Then she went in this one. So, you are wrong dear. I have been watching all along.
