Bit melancholy though isn't it..with rather depressing resonance seeing as we're still intent on destroying the environment..glad you liked it though!

@@LitCrit today it's a rainy day and was kind of a melancholy mood waking up driving to work before sunrise listened to this around 6am at my breaktime so it was a good expression of the morning mood

@@garycoates4987 I live in Bangkok and literally can't remember the last grey rainy day! It does rain here, but it's still warm so not dreary at all. What do you think of the last lines? Does he mean that brief though human life is, our 'perishing pleasures' are even shorter?

@@LitCrit seems like he is saying we can try to fill life with little things that distract us from our mortality but our attention is always drawn back to it. there are just as many reminders telling us life is short as there are "pleasures" to distract us from the idea, the field of trees are now all tree stumps. being a metaphor of standing persons being replaced by grave markers the symbols of life are symbols of life ending.he does mention headstones. yeah it is a very melancholy start lol
