Stop the sunshine. I am worn completely out on Finley. Since his hiring in 21, he has brought in one. 1 player of note, Davon Mitchell. Who still has not played one snap of football at OU. I have seen zero development out of his TE room. If they can't catch, can't block, or even find their ass with both hands why even have a TE. Just find a full back. There are still a couple guys at TE I hope they are looking at. Max Klare. Purdue is one.

@seanb.47123 күн бұрын
Not excited. But, at least he came to OU as we need depth. 6'4" 240 means he is 6'3" 235lbs. He is small. We already have a bunch of tweeners. We need a real TE! 6'6" 260lbs to block for the run and protect in pass pro.
@jkreimborg2 күн бұрын
Nah we’re good But , we do need a 235 to 260 pound running back
@seanb.47122 күн бұрын
@jkreimborg we have 1 227lb back in X Robinson. But, I agree we need another 225lb -235lb RB. These particular 195lb backs just aren't doing it.

@ Robinson is good , at unt or something . They need an nfl guy 230 , like Mixon or Perine or Fazande. SEC warlord running backs .

@seanb.47122 күн бұрын
@RaeAGE that is funny. Your right though with that logic any outlier like Vernon Davis kills any argument 🤣 A few older Tight Ends, Dave Caspar with the Raiders and Jay Novachek with the Dallas Cowboys were 6'4" 235.

It's understandable why several OU portal targets chose OhioSt, Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Oregon, & Clemson instead of OU. Those are bigtime programs with big NIL funds. But it is a bit concerning when Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas Tech, and Kansas State win out over OU & BV for portal players that the OU coaching staff went hard after & wanted.

Excluding Mateer, this entire portal class is sub-par. Why can't OU get a portal haul like LSU or Ole Miss? The former is recruiting line they're on a budget with all the FCS players.
@SchoonerOffRoad2 күн бұрын
Hmmm…..has anyone thought that maybe OU’s staff doesn’t want to just settle on the first available guy to jump in the portal? They could be waiting to see who’s available after the playoffs/after spring football. They don’t have a ton of room. I’d be interested in who they pick up after the playoffs…..people are too impatient
@redline54062 күн бұрын
Did spending a bunch of money on NIL get Ole Miss into the playoffs? If you buy a bunch of merc's, don't be surprised if their hearts aren't in it.

@@redline5406 It got them closer to the playoffs than OU did and it gave OU a loss.

Is your question rhetorical? Feels like it should be considering the answer is so obvious. OU doesn’t have the same amount of money to spend that some other schools do.

I'd rather OU use a 6th lineman for blocking instead of just getting the definition of a JAG. It's absolutely disgusting what that TE room has become. And I don't know what's worse, that BV doesn't recognize that JJF has been an absolute disaster as the TE coach, and he thinks he's done good enough to not be fired. Or he's just to sentimental and can't fire him. Either way it's pathetic. The only way JJF should be back is if he took a pay cut to the point, he's the lowest paid coach in all of the P4.
@ytcommentacct2 күн бұрын
Well, it took BV half the season to figure out that Litrell's worthless ass needed to go. Give him another year or two and he'll be right on top of the Finley debacle

OU's refusal to open the checkbook and go get top tier players will lead to another average season. Except for a few cases, when you bring in average players you get average play. These coaches' ability to evaluate sure seems highly suspect.

My favorite podcast. Now, Carson Kent is not going to start. Our portal has been pathetic for chasing tight ends. Hell maybe he’s the missing piece😂😂. Then we can get a 5’9 CB from maybe Alcorn State. It’s really obvious they are all diamonds in the rough., since our staff is ahead of everyone else. It is about next year! You wait one more year and these coaches are gone. At the end of the day it’s about winning and please don’t start pumping sunshine like many of your competitors . One more thing, the star of the show has been kinda shutout for the last few podcast. But everyone does a great job! Merry Xmas
