Win or lose- BV needs to let all the players who have redshirted or rarely got in there play today (since bowl games don't count against redshirt). So, they can get a good evaluation of what they have going into next season and who might need to be told that their services will no longer be needed and what needs to be worked on. Players like Andy Bass, Okoye, Stone, PJ, Kaden Helms, Devon Mitchell, Boganowski, entire WR corp, etc...

Mabrey Mettauer just entered the transfer portal. He is a big, strong qb from the Houston area (I know, I know, OU doesn't like qb's over 6'1") with 4 years of eligibility. He is the same class as Hawkins, and their ratings were almost identical. His brother played oline here, and I think he would have come if we had offered him out of high school. What's the harm in bringing him in and letting him compete to be the qb of the future?

The Boston Red Sox adopted much of the Money Ball concepts along with also signing top players and won a World Series. I think BV is doing more of what Boston did than Oakland.

He is listed as a RB on the depth chart but could play emergency QB in a run heavy game plan. He’s ready to play. I really think he would be a better slot WR than RB as well as return punts and kickoffs, although I think WR transfer from Arkansas is slotted for that role. I think Bass is a fantastic athlete and they need to find a way to get him on the field. Hopefully Arbuckle will do a better job of evaluating and position placement than Joe Jon or Seth.

People forget as bad as this team was on offense they still beat themselves with turnovers. Even with a inept OLine. Get rid of the turnovers. And the OLine will be a lot better next year. Still have the running backs and then receivers will adapt.

LOOK AT NFL ROSTERS AND SCHOOLS THEY ATTENDED!!! You must remember just because they’re highly rated. The NFL is one percent of one percent of one percent And 50% of second round draft choices, never become starters!!! There are very few difference makers in the portal. It’s time to stop one-year rentals, unless there a no-brainer.

Signing an insurance quarterback is a necessity. However it doesn't win OU any more games. Brent went 2-6 in the SEC which is 12th or 13th place in the 16-team SEC.

Dude it’s not just finding players that are gonna make the team better. Ya’ll need to find NFL type coaches and play callers that are above the calling booth for offense defense and special teams to make Oklahoma a powerhouse team that might be able to play not just for a bowl game but for a national title as well. Look at Ohio State Alabama Clemson FSU Michigan. Those are ass kicking programs that’s have b because they have NFL type players coaches and defenses that kick ass all season long. That’s what OU needs.

We have a bad staff and some weird shit going on behind the scenes we aren’t seeing. All those receivers leaving is weird. Not getting rid of Finley is weird. The so-called “talent” that left was good when they were on the field…but, if they’re only producing 1 out of 3 seasons, dropping wide-open passes in the endzone, and just barely slapping their body into a blitzer on critical blocks…that “talent” amounts to losing nothing. When you’re getting the floor in production on the field, any new player can only get you closer to the ceiling. As to NA, in particular, insiders report he was a cancer in the locker room, up to and including encouraging other players to visit outside medical practices to cover-up his lack of ability to stay on the field (consider this could be a money loss for him personally, so he has a motive), which caused conflicts in the player’s treatments and the team suffered for it. So what was BV to do? Ban players from seeking outside medical treatment and likely getting the university into a lawsuit? Is that the leadership you who are so quick to judge wanted him to do in that situation? I suggest you knee-jerk reactionaries reserve judgment until you know all of the facts, or just hush and realize you’re uninformed what’s going on behind the scenes.

I know this podcast is trying to be as positive as possible but this is the worst rated recruiting class (17-18th) and they aren't blowing anyone away with their portal pickups. OU is ranked 37th in portal transactions. At the start of the year I said this was a 4 loss team (I was being too positive) and Sooner fans lost their minds. I see another 6 win team next year. That's taking advantage of the portal.

It's not about trying to stay positive inasmuch as try to find some rationale for the way they're approaching the portal. The reality is this isn't a great portal class, imo. And per Venables words, they're not done.

He’s got no mobility and a weak arm. Inconsistent accuracy at the FCS level. If he has to play next year we are in BIG trouble. However, I like the idea of your 3rd QB being a glorified coach so hopefully his mental capacity for the game is at a level it needs to be.
