What I would find honestly intriguing would be if you could get a Curious Candle. If you for some insane reason threw your candle into your second rift after it had become possessed, it’d become bright golden, and would have infinite durability, with a unique separate ability. This would REQUIRE both rifts to be empty or to have the Bottle of Starlight on you to re-open your 2nd rift from the Backdoor to do, which would make sense as to why it’d be needed.

If all this is true I believe the devs will build upon the use of being able to light things on fire. Since it’s an entirely new mechanic that wasn’t that useful I believe the devs will be building on it, and I believe the candle will come in handy for the castle as there’s bound to be a lot of candles. The castle is definitely gonna have candles hanging around that we can most likely use a lighter or fire source of some kind to light up. Possibly giving us the chance to re-light rooms. And possibly using the guiding candle to light candles that were put out replaces it with a blue tint, maybe leading to a secret or buff of some kind.

The Lost in translation badge says "transform an *item*", not the candle specifically, meaning that other items can potentially get possessed in the future, so here are some ideas that I've cooked up: Bottle of moonlight/guidance: does what the guiding light candy does in the trick or treat modifier (reveals the location of the grumbles, figure, and dupe alongside items you need to collect like the books, batteries, and those node things in the grumble section of floor 2.), however it also gives overheal like the bottle of starlight, just that it's blue in color and it doesn't drain. The skelelight/possessed shake light: lasts 50% longer than the original one, and has a brighter, blue-colored light. The Spectral Lantern/Possessed Lighter (I know, very goofy): it lasts much longer than a regular lighter, but has 1.25x less duration than a regular flashlight, its much brighter and has a bigger radius. (it's like the lantern from pressure, although it might be slightly brighter and have a bigger radius in comparison to the pressure lantern.)

since most of the comments are talking about potential items that could also be “possessed”, i may as well throw my hat into the ring possessed lighter. obtainment: put a lighter into the rift (maybe something else as well since lighters are pretty common) use: emits a bigger, blue light compared to the normal lighter, and lasts twice as long, if you use it on a normal candle, it will have the effect of the possessed candle until you unequip it. the possessed lighter also doesn’t blow you up if you use it in a firedamp room kinda sucks, but so does the possessed candle imo, so yeah

You don't need the possessed candle to put any item from curious light into the rift. If you have an item already in Guiding Light's rift, Curious Light will make a rift next to Guiding Light's rift, which makes this more better to hold stuff for the feature.
