If we think about it "scientifically," maybe seek goop is very reactant to its heat. I'm probably not explaining it well, but basically the temperature the goop is at will make it more/less dangerous and fluid. When you look at the dead screeches in the Nest, which are probably super cold and look pretty solid, they don't do anything when you step on them. However, in the Dam, where there are a bunch of high-pressure valves probably emitting steam and heat, Seek is very fluid and deals large amounts of damage, almost as if it is burning us. This matches up with the distortion effect on exposed skin, as if during the initial attack it has been burned and slightly melted, which sounds really painful. This also explains why Screeches tend to linger in dark rooms, only following you out if they already started attacking you, because they are using their limited willpower to stay as cold as possible to make it hurt less. This also explains why lighters, which would make the Seek goop much hotter on contact, are very good at scaring away Screech. We can also take into consideration the convenient falling chandeliers in the Hotel, which, if Seek is as intelligent as Game Theory makes him out to be, could be being dropped intentionally by Seek to increase his chance of catching you by making himself more harmful. Vice versa, in The Hotel when he reaches arms in from THE OUTSIDE, it is raining, which would cool down the outside arms but not the inside arms, allowing him to be strong on the outside so his arms don't fall to the floor, but fluid on the inside from the fire to be able to grab you. This also could be why The Nest has, for the most part, atleast until we lured the Queen away, been able to defend itself; there is not many sources of heat aside from maybe the electronics, and it has a moat on one side of it and a cavernous minetrack on the other. This means that overall the Nest is pretty cold, preventing Seek from just full on flooding it like he does The Dam. Finally, this could be why Seek has to infest so many things, because it needs their body heat to survive and keep itself warm, since it can't exactly be warm-blooded as a blob of goop. It instead hunts and infects other creatures to use as a source of energy, which it uses to obtain more creatures, gradually growing larger and larger. But that's just a theory... a GAME THEORY! TLDR; Seek is strong & fluid when he is hot, and stiff & slow when he is cold, proven by science and multiple parts of the game.

it's surprising how quickly things switched up, as in floor 1 seek was just a dude who chased you, and figure was seen as a more important character. but then suddenly, in floor 2, seek goes beyond everyone's expectations, and just takes almost the whole lore to himself. i guess seek's slime can even infect lore. i can't imagine what seek will be in floor 3. and btw, this entire time seek is just playing with us, (redibles said seek likes to play with its food) if seek stops playing with us, we're actually all doomed.

Honestly my theory is that the goop needs to enter the body via the eyes, nose, mouth, or wounds, just like a normal disease. This forces any seek goop that isn’t on any of those to MAKE a wound, thus why dam seek doesn’t kill you instantly, as the goop from it needs to make a somewhat open cut in your skin to get a grip and infect you. This also explains why you can fix the damage with bandages, as you aren’t putting them on infected parts of your body to make it go away, but it’s fixing tiny wounds from seek goop trying to get a grip on you. This even explains why seek grabbed the queen grumble by the eyes, as the eyes can be used by diseases to infect people. I know I’m not MatPat (he will be missed due to retirement), but I think that this theory is solid (or should I say game theory- ok I should stop, it’s been a long while and I’m still making these references).

It’s possible that at one point we may be able to burn Seek. It’s know that Screeches hate light and by extension fire, and LSPLASH has stated that they could be killed by an oven. Since normal giggles don’t hate lights (with the exception of being shined in the eyes with light, which I think anyone would dislike), it’s possible that Seek’s slime is flammable. I would love a boss fight where we have to burn seek in order to finally put a stop to him.

But it could just be an oversight from the developers, or it could be that Seek really doesn’t care and will do anything to stop us, he’s been shown to be very determined and persistent. You’re not really supposed to look at Seek chasing you, so it could just be that the devs didn’t want to make him avoid it for something no one would see. Edit: Seek also just directly clips through them, so I don’t think it’s a definite “no” towards the theory that fire can damage seek.

Queens, in animal kingdoms, really are just big animals that lay eggs. When a bee, wasp or ant queen dies, the hive just makes a new one. So I think the Grumbles specie will not go exctinct. Also, I don't think they are that endangered as a specie: Seek has already infected A LOT of their youth to send them in the hotel and across the mines, yet we see giggles everywhere in the mines and they don't seem too concerned. Looking at how many dead screeches are in the nest, in my opinion they mass produce eggs and youth, just to have a chance for any of them to become grumbles. Also, we aren't sure that the Nest in door 150 is the only nest of their specie. After all, bee hives and ant hives are everywhere in forests, there isn't just a main one for every member of the specie. So yeah, Grumbles will make another queen, they will be mostly fine.

One thing I’ve always wondered is how are screeches able to fly? Seek and giggles aren’t shown to fly. My guess is that when Seek takes over a body it also takes over their soul. Possessing their body allowing them to fly. This could explain why screeches have glowing white eyes. It isn’t like being infected by a parasite it’s more like be possessed. Also, in one of Chedder’s videos. He explains that Rush is an infected Blitz. If that is true (which I’m not sure about) then it shows that Seek can also infect spirits.

The only problem is that... if a player fall into the goop at door 200, he will take damage, but not suffer from anything else. Once the player is out of the goop, there is nothing more than injuries, no more goop stick to the player.

that's likely because seek's slime needs to get inside your body through a wound in your body, nose, mouth, etc. like a normal disease, so it's likely making a wound in your body to enter, hence why you can just put a bandage on it and be fine.

I have a theory that bob is seek (hear me out) So let's say bob is a janitor for some reason and one night he is mopping a black substance, that black substance starts crawling up his body and possessing him without a warning. He has turned into seek. It's been so long that he has been infected with this that his corpse spits itself out of the glob monster at door 51. Now with the substance fully in control, it goes from door 29-34 chasing people for no apparent reason, or so we thought...the glob still has a little bit of bob left-over, so bob trys getting back to his skeleton so he can fully become bob again, but fails because everyone shuts the door on him. So he trys it for a second time, but still fails. And that's my theory!

I think Seek’s power is a tiny bit distorted when using a “puppet” because Screech doesn’t do immense damage, or it’s because Screech can’t be used for long periods of time or else it will rot away.

i think that maybe the player doesn't "die" when seek touches it. Because if seek actually WANTED to kill you, he'd block the exit. I think that seek needs the player to get out of the hotel, and when seek touches the player, guiding light cannot help anymore, because seek is the embodiment of mischievous light (his room glowing red and secondary colors being red)

I think Rush may be an infected Blitz. Infecting Blitz harms it enough to the point that it can no longer rebound, but considering how much we encounter them, Seek gets a greater understanding of where we are at all times. It would also be cool if Ambush is just an uninfected fully grown Blitz, like how Grumbles are fully grown uninfected Giggles.
