so beautiful. makes me emotional, both grieving what those who came before us destroyed, those around us continue to damage, the parts we've played ourselves in it, and then the glimmer of hope of what we can now build together. 🙏🌱💜

Well said, also known as permaculture
@REGENETARIANISM Жыл бұрын
And guess what? Permaculture is also rooted in indigenous systems that reconnect humans with the land.
@lepaysanmoderne Жыл бұрын
@Regenetarianism Which is why I said that. Permaculture draws all it primary ethics from the indigenous culture that, without European influences, had all the makings of being truly sustainable.

NO! The earth has not gifted us with life! God (Jesus) gifted us with life and He is the one who created the earth. I never thank the earth or animals for anything, but give all thanks to the creator of this earth, and all beasts that inhabit it. Nevertheless, there is some good and true information in this film.

I have heard the TedTalk version of this video but the one blindspot that I would raise is that of scale. The pre-Columbian population of Indigenous Peoples in what is now USA and Canada is best estimated as between 3-12 million. With the median of the various researchers closer to 4 million. The population is now 100X at close to 400 million. The same ancient techniques will not feed this many people. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population_history_of_the_Indigenous_peoples_of_the_Americas#Estimations

I think the message of the video is not a matter ot technique but of worldview, of how we humans see ourselves in relationship (or not) to nature, and almost at the end recognizes the regenerative agriculture movement that integrates modern science
