While not discounting this skill.... Maynard is known for recording his vocals on already made music tracks. He tends to follow the guitar a lot with his voice patterns.

that bassline is ALREADY SO HARD by itself add to that the fact that the singing line's rhythm pattern is not even on the same realm as the bassline and then playing it together.. while maintaining emotion and flow are you god?
