So we used our electric chainsaw for the first time out while camping. Worked really well. Very happy with its performance. Love to get your feedback if you have used an electric chainsaw as well!

Hi Jack. The only reason I reluctantly carry a large petrol chainsaw, is to clear huge trees that sometimes fall and lock me into my favourite remote camping locations. I would rather just carry one smaller battery chainsaw for sure, as it will do for 98% of the time.

Hey guys, great review, enjoy all your content. Just a heads up... and I don’t mean to be the safety police... but the saw should always be used in the right hand mode. I too am left handed like Stephen, and although slightly unnatural, for safety, right handed is the way to use them. Kick back from these electric saws can be brutal if not careful and using them left handed exposes the legs to the blade a lot more. Also you will notice that, when using it left handed... you get your feet covered in wood cuttings a lot more than the right handed way. Also try and use protective glasses. HI Rob. The new generation of better performance battery chainsaws, are so convenient for camping and clearing the average size tree across the track. I want one, but that means I will need to justify owning three chainsaws. Sure I can justify that in my own mind, but my wife sees it differently for some strange reason.

Being a woman that loves camping, I would say that the third one uses no petrol, is not as loud, and easy enough for her to use.... or the two you have could fail, and the third is a replacement ..... I would love to have one for myself.

I went and had a look and different brands and features. I noted the power output was not overly impressive on many of the others. Was comparing it to a stihl. 2000 - 4000rpm on a stihl 120. 6800 rpm on an Ego. 2 year warranty on a Stihl Chainsaw 5 year in an Ego Chainsaw 2 year warranty on battery on a Still. 3 years warranty on battery in an Ego. Largest battery for the Stihl 120 is the AK30 @ 4.8AH Using their fastest charger will take 60 minutes to full. The closest battery on the Ego is a 5.0 AH. Usng their fastest charger it will take just 40 minutes to full. In fact I can go up to their 7.5Ah battery and charge it full in the same time it takes to charge the lessor stihl 4.8Ah battery. Ego use the Industries fastest charger and it is a single charger for their entire range where as Stihl use two different batteries The ego is a longer saw as well. The 58V battery provides it with a good amount of power as well.
