For those who didnt understand, when he put that flaming paper inside that container, the hot air rose, which created a vacuum space inside it. Now, the pressure inside the jar was low and the pressure outside the jar was high. Now the high pressure from the outside tried to fill the vacuum space inside the jar, and thats when he put the balloon, which made it sucked inside it

This happened because when the burning paper is put inside the funnel the air inside the funnel is taken by the combustion and creates a low pressure inside the funnel and upper side there is high pressure and that's why the balloon entered into the funnel.

I think only lowering the pressure inside flask was required i.e. pressure in flask must be less than 1 atm which was achieved only by using up oxygen additionally, I believe CO2 must have escaped the flask is there is heat.
