In 2016. A few months after my daughter was born. My exwife left me with no notice and took my baby away a few months later. Divorced in 2018. Today i am showing this to my 8 year old Girl with the photo album from our wedding which she never saw. Waited for this since then. 3 sui*** attempts back then but still here. Life gets better. No one will help you. You gotta trust God or whatever you believe in to make it one more day. Do it long enough it becomes weeks, then months, then years. You gotta stick around. She is bullied at school because they all make fun of her because mom and dad are not together. Gonna be good. Never bad talked her mom in front of her ever. Will show her her parents used to love each other. Jon. 40 years old. I was afraid but I never walked alone. I had myself. I now realise it. You are your biggest supporter.

Thank you for sharing your story. It takes immense courage to go through what you’ve experienced and come out stronger on the other side. You’ve come a long way, and your strength will undoubtedly have a positive impact on your daughter. Stay strong and keep believing in yourself.

Children can be cruel sometimes, I'm sorry your daughter had to suffer. Children need to understand that mummies and daddies do separate but sometimes it can be for the best, thanks for sharing and stay strong.

Bullied at school because parents aren’t married and together? That’s incredible? I’m a teacher in Europe and well over 40 percent of primary school students come from single parent homes. 44.5 percent to be precise. The statistics in America I believe are very high as well with the last census in the United States showing single mothers made up a total of 15.4 million of the population. Bullying is a horrid horrid behaviour and shameful. I hope your daughter will have a wonderful life and rise to the highest levels in life, happy healthy and well adjusted. It’s a cruel world filled with hateful people. Wishing you well.

That right! My brother got away from bad friends by becoming distant with them: not meeting them, not answering the phone, not going out to eat or drink with them. At the same time, he worked very hard, always looking at the goal that he wrote down and posted on the wall. In the end, he reached millions of dollars and continued to grow his work better every day. He can freely use his time and money without anyone controlling him.

These teachings of indifference have taught me how to let go of anxiety and focus on areas of my life that I can control. At the same time, not losing sight of the fact that I must be empathetic and show compassion towards those who need me.

The content highlights the importance of indifference in Stoic philosophy. Indifference, often misunderstood as coldness, is a powerful tool for maintaining emotional control and making rational decisions. By choosing not to be affected by external negativity, one can protect mental health and enhance performance in various aspects of life. Focusing on the process rather than outcomes helps build resilience and inner peace. The Stoic practice of detachment from uncontrollable events fosters a calm mind, aiding in better decision-making and personal growth. This mindset promotes authentic living and guards against the detrimental effects of bad people and situations.

The example of Vincent van Gogh is not a good example to make such point. The man was an artist and a genius but he was unstable, and I am not sure he was being indifferent, I think in his case it might have been the opposite. Never the less, I get the point.
