if all engineers build barbed wire between enemy base and the objective, it will slow down the enemy so much that the officers abilities will recharge and the enemy attack will stop. Then engineers can build more barbed wire

Engineer is the most underrated and underappreciated class. It hurts when teammates destroy the wires or don't man your defenses, allowing the enemy to almost immediately slip through them

Played a match of Caporetto. Germans completely smash through first sector, and seem to be unstoppable. 2 minutes later, all barbed wire, HMGs, and other devices have been built. In the backlines, barbed wire, HMGs, and the mortar is fully built AND utilized. A lucky mountaineer managed to find a way to spot the entire enemy team as they advanced. Because of how persistent Engineers were in their builds, the entire Italian team managed to not only hold the entire frontline, but MG support was extremely overpowered in this one match. Uninterrupted, the sound of multiple HMGs shooting at once sounded like an orchestra from a distance, which is such a rare experience in this game that I couldn't believe I was hearing it. Then, after 200/400 deaths, attackers finally breached the frontline and reached the objective. Because the team realized how overwhelming MGs were in this one instance, there were actually people in the back sector (including myself as Engineer) now using those MGs to suppress Germans taking the sabotage points, allowing our team to get right back into it unscathed. Its purely unbelievable how strong engineer defences can actually be when the team coordinates and understands how to use them

It is true. I like that you also mentioned mountaineers, I'll be damned but it is hard to find any good spoters in random games. Hopefully more people will play those classes properly.

The thing I've mostly been confused about when playing as engineer is where to place sandbags. Also placing sniper shields is a bit of a bitch too. Can't say I've ever used one when i was playing as marksman. But i really appreciate your tutorials, good sir.

Thank you for your comment! Sandbags are a two bladed sword as if you place it poorly, it will aid the enemy team more than your own, but guess and trial as well as experience is the only way so just go for it. :)

The only frustrating thing with playing engineer is realising just how stupid most of your teammates are on defense, half the time my wire gets cut its by my own team(and I mean frontline wire, not wire in our rear), and I’ve seen at least 10 different times teammates cut the wire and then get shot 2-3 seconds after running through the now cut wire. Defense in this game should basically be a guaranteed win on a lot of maps but dumb teammates make it just so easy for the attackers.

I totally agree, sadly people will be people....that's why I switched to the assault class :P

@@gaming.teacher just played today and I saw a teammate cut wire so he could run into a red zone… you know which is out of bounds for the defenders. He ran in, stopped after realising his mistake, and immediately got shot by an enemy who had just been watching him do it. No other class makes me rage as much at the stupidity of my own team, and it only gets worse when I realise there are 4 engineers on the team and I am the only building wires

Can you review what DLCs are worth buying?

The DLCs in Isonzo are purely cosmetics. You can check them inside the game by hovering over an outfit of a class of sodlier or on steam. If you value it, buy the ones you like. Note that by maxing a class you get access to a different outfit which should be used mostly for AH. I made a video about camuflage for AH, you can check it out.
