Yeah when i was younger i wanted darker stories and more stakes. Now as im older i appreciate this. I watch media as escapism and friendship is a important i have as i get older. Yes i don't see my friends as much anymore but when we do meet up its special and reminds of the good old days. I had problems witg fairy tail friendship but now i appreciate it

People will shit on the power of friendship not realizing that some of the best, most impactful, emotional, and iconic moments in anime are because of the power of friendship😭 And talking about Fairy Tail in specific, their magic is powered by strong feelings and emotions. It’s literally built into the power system lmao. I could say that it’s the only anime that should get away with it, but I won’t go that far😂
