Most people would bash you for saying that then singing like that after. But literally he just explained why his voice is strained. Same song every night. Makes a vocalist resent the most important thing that happened to them. That’s the power of power! Want that fame and fortune then would trade it all back for normalcy. Tell me I’m wrong Hue. I think the world of how u handled your fame brother. God bless u all

Sadly, Mr Lewis has a debilitating hearing disease called meniere’s . He’s unable to sing along with musicians any longer. He was interviewed about this and it’s also on KZbin video if you care to watch it. Feel really bad for him. He was once a very powerful vocalist.
@homegown12345 ай бұрын
I am so disappointed due to this hearing disease which I hope he can overcome it. I love this band very much and wish him and the band much success in whatever they can provide music and still enjoy music. Love them!

@@finnmcginn9931I really don’t think he wants anyone to feel bad for him. He’s trying his best to make lemonade out of the sour lemons he’s been dealt. There are two Broadway shows currently playing featuring their music. Pretty darn cool, if you ask me! I’m not giving up on him with his hearing situation. I’m still holding onto hope that things will turn around for him. I try to believe that miracles do happen. 🙏

First I have to say I love Huey Lewis and this is my favorite song of his. Sadly though his voice is pretty shot and the suggestions to lower the key seem appropriate. On a similar note have you heard Ann Wilson of Heart recently? Although she has gained weight since her early career, she still sings her ass off. Her voice has held up as well as any rocker's from back in the day. But Huey is still a cool dude and I am glad he still has an audience and is performing.

1957user - I saw the Stones 2 years ago in Philly and they still rock and kill it with their energy. Top band althought overinflated prices for tickets.
@johnmartling7979 жыл бұрын
1957user Meat had an incredible voice range and a unique vocal type but it wasn't really suited for the music of the time or this time. Huey is one of my favorites and he's got tons of hits compared to Meat who had Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, maybe Bat out of Hell, and Anything for Love. Meat destroyed his voice far too early in the late 80s

+dOs I'm a high tenor, and this song is even hard for ME to sing along to. I can't imagine it was even easy for Huey back in '85.
@MrAnders19768 жыл бұрын
your are right.. he is defininately even back in the 80's a half key to high for his vocal fach.. Both this tune and "hip to be square" should have been written in E-flat in my opinion..
@Mooseboy087 жыл бұрын
Actually, Eb would put this song UP a step and a half, since it's in C.
@groovee637 жыл бұрын
lol
@MrAnders19767 жыл бұрын
you are right,, I mean the riff in "hip to be square" turns on the low E.. You will need to tune your guitar down a half step to play "hip to be square" adn turn on Eb and not E, so tuning down 100 cents.. (half step). Also most songs in C-major tends to be too high for my deep baritone voice and I need to lower them to B-major. Huey is singing in a key that suits thin bright baritone or tenors.
