@@achless1Robert Lamm on lead vocals, Lee Loughnane on trumpet, in saxophonist Jim Pankow are the three originals left. The other singer is Neil Donnell, who I think has been with the band about four or five years.

When we went to our first concert back in 1983 , Robert Lamm was the first person, I had noticed , then after that it was Peter Cetera and then rest the band. I am a huge fan of Chicago , listening to them, since 1970 - present . *They have came a long way and keeping the band going for over 50 years* !! *Each and everyone in the Band , deserves an Award* !!!

Unbelievable!! Did they kick ass or what. The horns make this band so unique. They are an intrical part of the bands sound and style 🎉 .Just saw them at the Hard Rock 3 weeks ago. These guys play like they are 20 years old They are better now than in the 70’s. 😮 “. Rock On “ guys . We will never get old.
@mattparker2323 Жыл бұрын
Neil Donnell may not play bass, but he is the closest voice to Peter's of any of the replacements. He sounds particularly good on this version of 25 or 6 to 4. The band has never sounded better instrumentally.
@__GALLANT__ Жыл бұрын
07:11 Are you kidding? When he tried to hit the high notes on that song, he blew it practically every time. Flatter than hell. Listen again.
@mattparker2323 Жыл бұрын
@@__GALLANT__ I listened to Jason Scheffs out of time pitchy voice got 30 years. He was terrible singing Peters songs. I did see one performance from the early 90s where he sounded decent on 'Ive been searching so long', but that was rare. Even when in tune the sound of his voice is grating. Jeff Coffey wasn't bad. Donell can hit the high notes better than any of them now, including Peter himself. Peter hasn't sang these songs in the original key for 30 years.

@@mattparker2323 Hey man . . I lost track of Chicago's band members names; no doubt. I used to play all their music in various bands I was in through the years (tpt) but these adds to the line-up sometimes baffle me. Whatever that guy's name is that singing at my reference point 07:11 is just plain blowing it. lol Maybe that's the "Jason Scheff" you speak of?

Remember, too, that for the first 9-10 years, Terry Kath was singing lead on 25or6to4. Peter only picked it up after TK was gone!

A lot of you guys are so negative. Neil Donell is a tenor that has to sing above and below his range to sound like 4 different lead singers. Give him a break. He is a good singer for the Chicago songs. He left a vary good career in Canada to bail out Chicago. The original guys in Chicago (Lamm, Pankow) are approaching 80 . Neil can quit any time and leave Lamm & Pankow to find another lead . Perhaps you downers should listen to the Russian/Ukraine band Leonid & Friends which has been travelling the US for 3+ years. AND filling venues 2 and 3 times over. Be positive of the fact that you can go see and hear a live band that brings back the memories of the 1970's. If you don't like the singing - don't listen to it. Simple.
@jerrykintner569910 ай бұрын
Yeah, the Downers should listen to the Russian band that uses WOMEN to sing and match the high vocal ranges.

@@lamotta6 I didn't listen to their entire performance; that's true. My wife and I were out and came in in the middle of the thing. I always liked that band a LOT. Like many trumpet players of that "era", I played in bands all over the country and we always included several of the Chicago tunes. I was a young trumpeter (16) when "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is" came out and it was just like a magical song or something. Anyway . . . I don't want to belabor the subject. They need to work with this guy if he's going to continue singing with them IMHO.
